We traveled to this village with a group of friends. We wanted to eat German food and decided on King Ludwig's. I had Spatzle,, egg noodles with cheese. It was delicious and served on a big plate. Comfortable surroundings. Service was okay but serving staff could be more friendly and inviting.

We had looked at the menu outside, and saw a few items that caught our attention that we wanted to try. As we were there on a Friday, it wasn't very busy, but that meant we were seated right away. I've traveled around southern Germany and Bavaria, and fell in love with Hungarian Gulaschsupppe (goulash) when I was there. I... More

Food was meh. Wouldn't go again. Didn't stand out. Been back since and didn't go back. Many other spots in Leavenworth that are better.

Served 16 in our group with good selection of German cuisine. Pleasant surroundings served by friendly staff. Food was not as great as expected but not dissatisfied either.

My mom makes Sauerbraten for xmas every year and their's was just as great. Real German potato salad and the red cabbage was excellent!

This was the best German food I have had. I had the sauerbraten and it was excellent. My spouse had a combination dish with German meatloaf, pork schnitzel, sausage with sauerkraut, and roasted potatoes. It was excellent. The service was excellent and he had a great sense of humor. We had a good time and definitely would go again.

Disappointing for us as the rotisserie spun in the window for hours whilst we waited in line on Christmas Eve. We finally got in and service was fast but the food was less than I hoped for. My pork shank was hardly edible as the skin had hardened into a rawhide around the meat. The sides served along with it... More

The touted pork hock or knuckle had meat that was dry and fatty, with a skin that was hard, not crispy, mostly inedible. Accompanying kraut, red cabbage and potato salad were pretty good. Apple strudel was overly cinnamoned, with a soggy crust. Food may be better in warmer months, when there are more customers.

King Ludwig used to be our favorite restaurant when visiting Leavenworth. Unfortunately, not anymore. When you visit a Bavarian town, roasted pork hock, German sausage and beer are must try. That is pretty much the reason we visited King Ludwig almost every time when we were in Leavenworth. Sadly, our latest visit was kind of disappointing. First of all, the... More
