Based upon the current reviews on line we decided to try lunch here. The food and service was great. What my wife especially appreciated was the option to order 1/2 a sandwich. Located on the lower level and you order at the register.

Our little find provided prime rib and a baked potato for one of us, but the 3 sausage plate with warm kraut and German potato salad was exactly what I was seeking. The beef knackwurst, pork bratwurst and the German sausage were all really tasteful and complimentary with the side dishes and the German dark beer. My only want was... More

Loved the dollar bills on the walls and the simple hominess of this quaint little hole. Not the greatest kraut I've had, but the rest was terrific!

Leavenworth restaurants can sometimes be overwhelming- catering almost exclusively to tourists! This is a nice, unpretentious place- very kitschy- with all kinds of paraphernalia and a lot of dollar bills making up the decor. We had their steak chili and burger- both were very good. The fries that came with the burger, though, was amazing! Perfect fries.

If you call yourself a soup cellar, one would think they would feature house made soup - not the case here. A major disappointment. Thanks Progresso, you are tasty too.

We brought our kids, now our grandkids! Great Breadbowls and Great Soup. They have hamburgers and etc...too, but really, it's the soup cellar, got to try the soup. They also have prime rib on Friday and Saturday. The guys were very nice when we straggled in late Friday. Don't forget to post your dollar.

Split pea with ham, very good, chunks of ham throughout. Great sourdough buns too. Salad bar looked good also.

Husband and I shared a sausage sampler plate. Perfect for lunch. Fresh tasting and the potato salad was perfect. Would recommend!

Don't go here for a burger. We wanted to try a different restaurant and ordered burgers. Should have ordered soup. You could tell the burgers weren't grilled, but boiled. Served with a potato bun. We ended up only having a few bites and left.

We have been to this place several times and never been disappointed. The white chili is my hands down favorite, add the bread bowl and it is delicious. It is truly in the cellar. Just bench seating but it is perfect for those cold days in Leavenworth.
