I ordered the etouffee, and thought that the flavor was excellent. Others said it was spicy, but to me it was like a 2 out of 5 in the heat department. I'd get it again.

Cute place and came highly recommend . Maybe for Pullman it's a good place but I thought it was awful ! The good service was good not great but good. The beer was cold. The bad I wish the server would have told us how HUGE the portions were. My daughter and I are small eaters and could have split... More
On a college visit to WSU, we'd never even been to the state. Looking for a dinner recommendation, and Birch & Barley came up. Perfect spot and exactly what we were looking for.. something Pacific Northwest-y and local. Sat in the bar for dinner; service was super friendly and very fast. I had the lobster mac-n-cheese (with "cougar made cheese"!... More
Birch & Barley is an excellent restaurant. The food is top-notch and they have some quality craft cocktails. Their happy-hour specials are also some of the best I've ever seen. You can get a 1/2-pound burger for under $7 during happy hour. This is an excellent spot!
Ok so me and a colleague that I work with stopped in for lunch and usually this place has good food. I guess this was an off day or week. There were about 5 tables in the whole place so it was not too busy by any means. The waitress was awesome and very polite. I ordered the Gumbo soup... More
We decided to try them again after a while to see if things had gotten better. NO, not better. Still the same-just average. We had the blackened salmon caesar salad which was OK. Salmon could have been a little more blackened and didn't have alot of flavor. Also had a hamburger and fried which again was OK. Definitely better burgers... More
The menu here has a number of cajun / creole offerings so we assumed that the kitchen had the required expertise to prepare them. Sadly, the crawfish etouffee was a cream-based disappointment without any visible crawfish tails. Instead, there were plenty of bay shrimp. I suspect that the sauce used in the ragin cajun pasta came from the same pot... More
Whenever I go "home" my brother and his family insist we eat here at least once. I'm pretty sure the table by the fireplace is always reserved just for us. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone, if you like a lot of that Nawlins' flavor then you are at the right place! But they have other items... More
We always go here when we are in town. The best red pepper humus around, and great mussels too. Lots of great choices from burgers to Cougar Gold Mac 'n Cheese. Yummy!
You know that flavor, oily, maybe a little rancid? That's how our dinner was at this restaurant. The Caesar salad was wilted and had big chunks of root stalk in it. The prime rib was very chewy! And then it was bland. Not at all to liking.
