If you like home style food, this is a great place. I had the breakfast special ($5.75) which was two eggs, sausage with biscuit and gravy and grits. This was very good. My co-worker, who has been in New Orleans and had true southern food, lived this place. He had the catfish breakfast and cleaned his plate!! This place was... More

We had a great breakfast with real grits. (Grits are hard to come by outside the South.) Service was quick and complete. Alot of interesting pictures and such.

The peach cobbler is the best! We had an order of fried chicken, bbq beef and catfish strips. We all were stuffed and very happy.

If you want southern, deep fried goodness, this is a good place to go. They serve huge portions, so come hungry. Friendly staff and a decent amount of seating.

What a unique & quaint little cafe in Tacoma and all food we tried was DELICIOUS....catfish, rice and beans, candied yams and the little pancake that tasted like good ole' cornbread. Added butter to this little pancake and it was so good. Really this was a great eating experience. Look forward to another visit.

We were craving southern cuisine and originally we went to Soul but for some reason the restaurant did not open by noon so we came to Southern Kitchen instead. Lets just say we are glad we did so because the food was amazing. We had the cajun catfish strips and the butter fish with sides of yams, collard greens, and... More

We came here wanting some good southern food and we scored! We had the catfish straps and the Southern fried chicken with sides of rice & gravy, cornbread dressing, yams and Mac n cheese. Each plate came with a cornbread flap jack. Everything was delicious. The chicken and fish were fried to a crisp perfection, while juicy and flavorful. The... More

Place was hard to find even with Waze. The food was great with huge portions. My husband and I both had veggie platters. We had fried okra appetizer and it was enough for 6 people. The sweet tea was spot on. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the corncakes. Too sweet and heavy and cold. The service was efficient... More
