I so wanted this to be an amazing culinary experience but it was not. While attempting to be gourmet, it food was far from it. The narrative before, and especially during the dinner, was insufferable. And I hate to mention this, but the decor was...More

The "100 Mile Dinner" was a gastronomic experience like no other. 9 course food, wine, and beverages ALL raised, grown and produced within this distance of the HerbFarm. This is for adults with sophisticated palates and diners who can adventurously allow the incredibly talented staff...More

I have been here twice now: once for their 100 mike dinner, and now tonight for their holly and ivy dinner. Such fantastic edible creations. Such wonderful staff. Very talented people all around, with a fantastic atmosphere.

Would you really spend around $300 if there wasn't a special occasion? The Chef's creations were outstanding (local mushroom theme), and the wine and beer pairings were well matched. Service was impeccable, so why only three stars? Turn down the guitar. Nice music selections but...More

Description
The Herbfarm is America's only 5-Diamond Restaurant north of Napa Valley and east of Chicago. With working farm and restaurant 20 minutes from Seattle, the restaurant offers 26 different 9 course dinner menus each year.Creed: The Herbfarm believes that no dish can be better than its ingredients, and that the best ingredients are usually local. Freshness is ephemeral, and geography expresses itself in the taste of the food--sometimes subtly and sometimes profoundly. The foods and wines of our region share a similar motherhood of soil and weather, making for a happier culinary marriage than those from dissimilar climates. The Herbfarm believes that chefs who cook with local ingredients--season by season, year after year--develop a more complete understanding of the foods than chefs who do not. This understanding can give rise to greater expressions of the food, its preparation, and enjoyment. The Herbfarm believes that supporting local farmers, foragers, cheesemakers, wineries, ranches, and fishermen helps preserve local foods.
