Yummy burritos - lots of variations to choose from. We went for lunch on a Sunday while recently visiting the area. They open at 11:30 a.m. but by 11:15 there was a line to get in. It's a small place and always pretty busy, but...especially on weekends when skiers, hikers, mountain bikers, etc. are in town. We started with the queso dip and chips - delicious and a very large portion for two people. Mu husband had a classic chicken burrito bowl - again a large serving. I had the Admiral - filled with chicken, peppers, onions, black beans and cheese. It was delicious, but a little cold on the inside. But we had enough Queso dip left over that I poured some over my burrito - perfect. Of course the burrito is enormous and I could only get through about half. We've been to Hellbender's a couple of times - always consistent.More

We stopped here after a day of skiing. It was super busy, so we had drinks at the bar until a table was ready. I had a terrific local beer and they had a couple of vegetarian options so I was happy. The burritos are...huge.More

We all absolutely loved it. Something different. The place is super cute. We just felt warm and welcome. Delicious that’s all I can say. Highly recommended from ages 7 to 42. That’s our age range.

My boyfriend and I always enjoy Hellbender Burrito during our seasonal visits in Canaan Valley (10 minute drive to Davis). The service and food is always excellent and price point is very reasonable for its large portions. You know it’s a great place when the...restaurant is full of its locals. We highly recommend and will be back many times again!More

Dropped in for lunch and had a shrimp hellbender, chips and queso and the wife had soup. Everything was fantastic and there were great WV beers on tap. Definitely recommend...

We always do a Canaan trip in the fall and we always go to Hellbender. Last year we ate in the restaurant but this year we ordered takeout and I was a little disappointed to find that our burritos came as just that - just...burritos. The menu clearly states that burritos come with coleslaw and chips, but apparently you don't get those with takeout even though you're paying the full menu price. The burritos were still good and we would definitely still get takeout, it's just something to be aware of.More

We have enjoyed Hellbender on each of our visits to the Davis area so I wanted to be sure to offer a review this time. Staff is always friendly and accommodating, the food is always spot on (and large portions), and we enjoy choosing something...new from the beer list. We love the Davis area and Hellbender is one of the highlights. I wish they were open Mondays!More

Ok I tried it based on reviews. The burrito was ok. Nothing worth writing home about . Funky decor which was nice. The service was well below par and the waitress did everything except tell us to leave and there were plenty of vacant tables....No sweet tea, chips are same thing I can get at a warehouse club... they don’t like to separate the bill nor to use a credit card. That was my one and done. The food at the state park was much much better.More

We had decided to give Hellbender a try since people online were excited about their burritos. I had the steak which had tender steak chunks throughout and the wife had the chicken which was tender. She loved the flavor of the guacamole. The one downside...of the steak was there was no kick to it. If marinated in spices, I believe it would kick it up a notch prompting me to bring this rating up to a 4 and to hit a 5 would require better chips as they were of average quality. The salsa was great so better chips would definitely compliment the meal experience. The noise level here is moderate and there is limited seating so keep that in mind as the weekend crowd can fill up the tables quickly. I am curious as to why they serve a spoonful of slaw with their burritos.More

I don't believe so. The menu lists these proteins: Steak, Chicken, Pork, Tofu, or Black Beans.
