Great local spot with good food, service and people. The patio is a good spot in the summer to have lunch or dinner.

Gray food and family friendly. We had a variety of items. Really liked the perogies! Not sure if these are just local, but its a dumpling with mashed potatoes inside rolled in different sauces. They were great. Nice view of the river in their outdoor seating too.

Two couples dined at Uncle Pete's after the governor held a town meeting. We arrived around 8:30 and were welcomed even though the dinner crowd for the most part had departed. Good beer selection - wine not so much. Our orders included 1/2 rack of ribs, a club sandwich, a mushroom burger (sans bun due to gluten-free requirement), and a... More

Very crowded during the week at lunch time, so maybe consider going before or after the rush. Despite the crowd there seem to be adequate space and it didn't take long to be seated. Food was delicious and price comparable to other restaurants of the same quality. The dining area was full and loud which made it very difficult to... More

Stopped in for dinner on a recent trip. Looks like it used to be an old house that has been converted. The bar area overlooks the river and when warm an awesome deck is available. Had the ribs which were very good and tasty. They offer several bottled beers and mostly a full bar.

Our friend recommended that we go to Uncle Pete's while we were visiting Oglebay nearby. The ribs were fall off the bone delicious! I also had a very good cheeseburger. The restaurant is set right on the Ohio River and would probably be a cool place to go during the summer when you could sit on their large deck and... More

While staying with friends in the area we had lunch here. We had lunch on the deck and watched the Ohio River. The service was a tad slower then I am used to, however, she was very friendly. The guys had the chili and there was NO complaining from them. I had a grilled chicken Caesar Salad, their dressing is... More

Description
We were directed to Uncle Pete's Restaurant by our hotel’s staff. The several block walk in the rain brought us to a easily-missed restaurant, as it is on the north end of Wheeling’s business district. We arrived around 8 PM to find only a few patrons, all of whom were eating and drinnking at the lounge’s bar. We eschewed eating alone in the restaurant’s dining room to sit at a table in the lounge, which overlooked the river, if daylight would afford the view. We were initially concerned by the service provided by a young lady who was doing a good imitation of drug-induced distraction. The food stood in comparison: Cajun Shrimp was delicious; the Half Rack of Ribs was as good as any I have eaten and the “half rack” was more than sufficient. An excellent meal.
