The Guides Inn is one of Boulder Junction's favorite restaurants. Lovely atmosphere and wonderful menu. Their speciality is walleye that customers drive miles to have. There is nothing on the menu that we have tasted that we have not loved, including Jimmy Dean's (the owner) homemade ice cream. We who live in Boulder Junction feel so fortunate to have a... More

Received a gift card to the Guide's Inn and was there for the 1st time for our Anniversary. Arrived at 5pm and it was a good thing because we would have had to wait till the 2nd seating around 7pm. Chef Jimmy seated us and was very friendly. Our server was excellent. My husband had the pan fried walleye and... More

Our visit to the Guide's Inn was a highlight of our family trip. This is a gourmet supper club with very friendly service. Our whole family ordered the pan fried walleye and it was amazing...as good as our recent trip to Canada. The homemade ice cream was delicious. My favorite was the pumpkin, but the grasshopper was excellent too. The... More

One restaurant we always visit on our trip north is Guides Inn. Chef Jimmy Dean does an excellent job. The Pan Fried Walleye is the best in the north. His food is fresh and well prepared. Would recommend anything on the menu.

We went from a recommendation from a trusted friend. It is a scenic drive to get to, but oh so worth the time! We had reservations and arrived on time, we were seated within 5 minutes. Staff were professional and personable! Handled our large party very well! We had 7 in our party, we started with wisconsin cheese curds (BEST... More

Come hungry! From start to finish, you will have plenty! Our favorite waitress from a Beer Bar in Boulder remembered us and took good care of us at Guides Inn. The relish tray and bread for starters were a keen indication of the food quality to come. I polished off the liver pate, despite my doctor's recommendations otherwise. The salads... More

We always consider a visit to Guide's Inn as a special one. It seems the quality and entree sizes have been dropping over the years. Perhaps its time for JD to revise his menu. The Veal dishes were unimpressive, the breading not as "crisp" as it should be. My guess is that the Veal has been prepped earlier and not... More

We visited in early June and had the Black Forest Schnitzel. It was preceded by French Onion soup. This should of told us something. The soup came exceptionally hot which we were warned about by the waitress. When it became edible it had absolutely no flavor. The broth tasted as if it was colored water and the onions were raw.... We have been going for years after a recommendation from a friend. The walleye is perfect, lightly seasoned and moist and melts in the mouth! Salmon, steaks, and scallop dishes always wonderful. This is the only restaurant that I know of that serves a relish dish, soup, salad and main meal with vegetables, and potatoes or rice or pasta. End... More
