We had an early dinner with our toddler and in laws and were surprised with the creative menu. My husband had the Walnut crusted walleye, the berry sauce was a perfect tangy zing. My fig crusted pork was outstanding. Service was friendly and very sweet to our daughter. In my opinion, comparing this restaurant to the Duck Inn is like... More

We had heard great things about this place so finally tried it on a Friday night. I want so much to love it because it's a cute little place out in the country, but it was one of the worst meals I have ever had. I had the fish fry and I couldn't eat it. The fish was mushy and... More

Management response:

You should have brought it up to your server, manager or owner. We don’t make people pay for meals they don’t like. And the burger and everything on the plate didn’t go back on a grill and it came out burned. The health department doesn’t allow that. You paid a lot of money to write a bad review. More

The wife and I stopped by for dinner, stuffed pork chop and pan fried Walleye filet. Soup and salad. Everything was home made and delicious. Our bartender Lori and the whole staff were very nice. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a exellent fish fry.

Friday night, ordered fish fry at 8:00. Didn't get dinner until 9:30. 1-Had the broiled Walleye and was violently ill for the next 2- days. Portion was so small even the waitress was embarrassed to serve it and offered to adjust price. ($17.95) Shame on the cook! Service was slow. We finally received our order ( after waiting an hour... Out in the middle of the country next to a farm is this quant little restaurant with an old world feel. Unexpected menu with wonderful daily specials. Very creative chef with a flair for aesthetic appeal. Never had anything here I did not like. It is pricy but well worth it.

We have been wanting to go to the Chalet for a long time and heard about how good it is. We were not let down! The appetizers were great, (artichoke dip and oysters rockefeller) wine was a good generous pour, vegetarian option (an eggplant dish that is out of this world), the most amazing autumn soup and fresh bread- all... I almost hate to write this review because then this restaurant will become so popular and I will not be able to get a reservation. My brother -in-law ate here and came home and raved about it. I did not believe him. We have a summer cottage in the area and have been dining out for years. The Chalet was... More

This place was closed for many years & it doesn't appear that they gave it an all over cleaning before they re-opened. Even after a year of being open, the place looks & smells unclean. The staff was okay, but not very welcoming. We ate & ran & will not be back!

My husband & I had dinner last evening at this cute little restaurant. We loved the atmosphere as soon as we walked in the door and we were greeted with a warm welcome. Everything on the menu as well as the daily specials sounded delicious and we had a somewhat difficult time deciding what to order. I finally settled on... More

They call their fish fry "Blue Roughy" but after discussing it with our waitress it was 'Basa' which is also known as 'Swai' or 'White fish'. This is not only the cheapest fish that is brought to this country from Indo-Chinese countries but also one of the most controversial for health reasons. Do your own research. This fish is a...
