We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Wickman House. From the moment we arrived on the grounds, the restaurant and surrounding land create a beautiful ambiance, the staff are kind and gracious, and the food was delicious. Having noted that it was our anniversary in our...More

From classic cocktails, hand made by skilled bartenders, to exquisite, farm to table cuisine, it would be hard to beat the Wickman House. It has become our go to restaurant when we are in the area. The foods offered are eclectic, fresh, creative, and oh...More

Unique restaurant in an old house. Nicely done. Interesting menu with many wonderful ingredients. Local beer served. Not the best service we have had, but we enjoyed our dinner.

This is a local favorite, and now I know why. Farm to table food, super fresh. Romantic setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Could easily be a "dress up" night, but casual dress is okay too! Higher end price, but well worth it!

Read all the great reviews. Didn’t work out so well for us. Very loud despite the sound panels put up on every wall (impressive effort). Waiter was nice but didn’t really know the dishes. One of our appetizers was only so so (the vegi spring...More

Wickman House is a bit off the path, but worth finding. We enjoyed a wonderful evening, great hand-crafted cocktails, wonderful fresh salad and excellent entrees. The portions are generous! We especially enjoyed the Staggering Chicken. The staff was professional and friendly. The guests around us...More

Everything about Wickman House surpassed expectations. We did expect good food good service and a lively vibe. It is an out of the way place in an "off the beaten path" part of Door County Wisconsin. The setting was charming, the food was superb and...More

We continue to try to support this restaurant; but it is a struggle. The cocktails are delicious and super fun. The tacos are tasty, but the mains are disappointingly bland. Pork chop was huge, but lacked flavor. Rice bowl was lackluster. Stuffed trout was dry...More

The first reservation we could get was 8:45 so we stopped to play mini golf at the Little Red Putter first. We arrived at about 8 and the bar was full so we sat in a delightful little gazebo that had a fully stocked bar....More

A new take on tradition, nicely executed. Food was quite good, although I'd say that the kitchen tries a little too hard to make their dishes stand out. Sometimes less is more. But we enjoyed it. Wine list is very good and not too expensive....More

You would so enjoy the quality of the food at Wickman's. Very creative and innovative, freshest of ingredients. One of the best in the area. Ambiance is relaxed and outdoorsy in many areas, and with enough advanced notice... More

After a day spent driving we went in very casual clothes. We felt pretty out of place... would probably recommend dressing up a bit more than shorts and tee shirts.

Description
Wickman House is located in a historic lodge in Ellison Bay, Door County. Offering sandwiches from Paying tribute to the property's original owners and namesake, this historical landmark was reborn as Wickman House in 2012. The renovation and design of the property are dedicated to restoring its history with an eclectic blend of original decor from the early 1920's. Also true to the property's original purpose: the restaurant's focus is on sustainable agriculture, featuring a menu inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and gardens. Finally, the property's enhanced space strives to be a true gathering place, much like The Ellison Bay Lodge was nearly a century ago. The proprietors, chefs, and staff at Wickman House strive to provide their guests with the ultimate dining experience through professional service and the use of only fresh, sustainable foods. All seafood is humanely harvested and sustainably considered. Nearly all ingredients not arriving from the sea come from local Wisconsin farms, artisans, and growers. All baked goods, desserts, sauces, stocks, and soups are made in house from scratch, just the way the Wickman Family would have wanted.
