For starters, I had to look up what a fish boil even was! My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat dinner on a Friday night in Door County. It was a little early, but we are pretty hungry. We decided to try...the fish boil at the Old Post Office. We got there as one of the fish boils was completed but they had plenty of food that we were able to eat. Your meal consist of a plate of bread which had Rye bread, zucchini bread, lemon bread and pumpkin bread. Your plate of food was a large portion of very tasty coleslaw, Assam boiled red potatoes, and some boiled white fish. The server will remove the Bones from your white fish if you so desire. They give you a small picture of melted butter to pour over your fish and potatoes and there's some yummy Curtis's seasoning on the table. The seasoning is made and sold locally. The fish boil is the only thing that they serve on Friday nights. I am not a huge fan of fish but was willing to try. And then I overheard the person on the phone stating that if someone does not eat fish they also have ribs and fried chicken available. I wish I would zeason I thought non-alcoholic drinks would be included in the meal. They were $2.25 a a piece and tasted like water down powdered lemonade. I probably would have just stuck with water! We were encouraged to go outside and watch the next fish boil when we were done eating. It was very interesting and I would recommend it if you are in the area!More

We ate here 2 mornings. Both meals were delicious, eggs and cherry muffin, French toast, Cherry pancakes and yogurt with cherries. Be sure to eat cherries in Door County as they will be locally grown. Martin was our server both days. He was very attentive....All the servers move so quickly serving, clearing tables, seating people, etc.More

We attended our first Fish Boil at the Old Post Office Restaurant. It was entertaining to watch the preparation. Get there early to get a seat. After watching the Boil, we moved to our table and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The servers remove the bones...before serving which was a BIG bonus. One still has to be cautious but nice that most bones are removed. My spouse got ribs rather than fish. Reported the ribs were very good also. I’d recommend this evening for entertainment and good food.More

We had such a good time going to their Fish Boil. The guy who prepared the fish boil was so full of energy, explaining the history and the process as he was going along. We made our reservation the week before and got to eat...outside on a beautiful evening. The fish (which the waiter deboned tableside) was unexpectedly tasty (put their suggested seasoning on it!). They included cherry pie for desert too, with or without ice cream!More

I'm not usually a pancace guy, but since Door County is known for their cherries, I decided to go for the Cherry pancakes and hashbrowns due to previous reviews. The waiter was very funny since the pancakes come with 1 cherry on top. He took...the time to explain that there were several cherries baked into the pancakes. He was not wrong! They were chock full of cherries! And SO good! And the hashbrowns were the best ever! So crispy! Great atmosphere and waterfront view as well!More

The fish boil was a fun, interesting experience. Very informative with some history of the area. Watching the cooking process was entertaining as well. The food was very good (especially the pie!). There is a bar out back where you can purchase a drink while...you watch the fish boil. If you're not a fish eater, there is also chicken & ribs as an option. Order that when you make your reservation. If you've never done a fish boil in Door County, you will not be disappointed.More

The Cherry Pancake stack was very delicious. One of the best pancakes I have ever had. The service was good. Look forward to having breakfast there again soon.

Definitely take in the whole experience, sit outside and see it happen! Boil Master is very informative and explains it very well, including history. The meal is so clean and fresh, Curt's Seasoning is perfect along with the butter. The fish is so fresh you...can taste it. And the Cheery pie, well let's just say, it was the perfect end to a perfect meal.More

Not only was the spectacle of the fish boil fun and educational, but the waitstaff even removes the bones at your table before serving it to you. It's the only restaurant that does that and it's worth it. The fish was delicious!
