Been regularly for over 20 years. Ordered a delivery take away through just eat as the phone line constantly busy. We have ALWAYS received at least 2 complimentary poppadoms whether eating in or take away. Spent £55 and not received one. Husband phoned to question...this and was told tough! Well shame on you Aagrah our business will go elsewhere due to your attitude.More
We visited the restaurant last week on a Saturday night. We were quickly taken to are table, but never got asked for drinks or no menus. 10 minutes later we finally got are drinks and we were ready to order. We ordered the aagrah starter...for 2. If I can remember this comes out hot and sizzling. Not this time the prawns were chewy the chicken was dry not a good start. The two curry’s we ordered looked and tasted exactly the same. Even though on the menu the ingredients were totally different. And taste bang average to be honest. The naan bread was plain when we asked for extra garlic. The rice was bland and cold. I am very sad to write this because 2 year ago it was amazing it’s just gone so down hill. We will not be returning in any hurryMore
Wow! I live in Pontefract but i'm BEYOND happy to drive all the way to Doncaster just for a taste of Aaagrah. Whether it be takeaway or eat in, the food is always exceptional (and HOT). The Chicken Tikka Masala is a family favourite of...ours, I've NEVER tasted a better one in the UK (& I eat a lot of CTMs). The staff are very friendly and quick to serve you. It can get very busy so make sure you order in enough time.
It may be slightly more expensive than the local indian takeaway but it's worth every penny. I cant wait to order my next Aagrah :)More
When I entered the building i thought what a dump and the staff were arrogant I had chicken korma and it tasted nothing like it. My mum had a leg of lamb and that had elastic band inside, anyway it was awful I wouldn’t advise going...there!More
We are regular customers of 20+ years and have never experienced service like this. This was supposed to be an enjoyable night but the staff ruined our family treat. The artifice and pure ignorance appalled us.We had a promised 40% offer on food which was not included...on popadoms and puddings??When confronted, staff became very hostile and argumentative. We reluctantly payed and won’t be planning on returning again.More
Arrived Saturday teatime 24/10/20 with my wife son & elderly parents what we found was disappointing as my parents regularly attend this establishment no one seemed to know what they were doing the place was chaotic even though there was not many people in at...this time the waiter showed us too our table and walked off leaving us after a short time to ask for some drinks took our order brought starters virtually threw them at us waited a good 5 to ten minutes for cutlery then after taking our plates straight away brought our mains everything seemed rushed as nd yet again waiting for cutlery the place was cold souless people walking in with no masks on staff who didn’t know what they were doing it will be a long time before I visit again also my parents said the same it’s a shame because we have had some lovely evenings over the years with family & friendsMore
I will start by noting that the food was ok however, I have visited many times over the years and the quality of food has noticeably deteriorated.
The main concern from my recent visit was the lack of cleanliness and disregard for safety precautions relating...to Covid.
Tables were not spaced apart adequately to maintain distancing and the restaurant was extremely busy. Items of cutlery, crockery, napkins and menus provided were visably unclean. The menus were not disposable and clearly had not been cleaned as one had a curried fingerprint on the front.
Such a shame as this has been a place I have made happy memories in over the years for various family celebrations.More
Went here tonight with 2 other couples, worst food and customer service I’ve ever received in my life! Went in was absolutely packed no social distancing no wiping down of tables, and the waiters wearing masks below nose. Had starters very substandard and small portions...and popadoms were hard and chewy. Waited over an hour for mains, to be served luke warm and tasteless. One of our party found plastic in her food (looked like it came from a microwave meal) when we told the waiter was told the manager would come and see us, he actively ignored us for another 45 minutes and only came to speak to us when we got up to walk out (we had asked over 5 times now to speak to someone to resolve the issue no one came or acknowledged us not even an apology). The manager eventually spoke to us, didn’t believe we had found plastic in one of the meals, then tried to charge us in full for the meal after we’d not touched any of the mains. We said we’d pay for drinks and starters and nothing else as that’s all we had. The manager became very rude and aggressive saying we had to pay for something, tried to explain that we are paying for what we had reluctantly but not the mains. The restaurant was advertised as having 40% off food he then went to charge us full price for the starters as in his words “he’d knocked the mains off so we have to pay something” again explained the mains were inedible we’d had a mouthful if that. Stood and haggled with him for ten minutes until eventually he knocked us 40% off the starters. Would not go back here again the staff are lovely to be fair but the manager is so rude, ignorant and lacks any type of people skills, and the food was horrendous. Can’t even give this a rating low enoughMore
No one asked for contact details throughout our visit. The restaurant was packed out. It was no different to pre COVID times. The space between tables had not been extended. A group of 6 men came in with no masks and were not challenged. People...were walking about the restaurant, presumably to the toilets, with no masks. When our starter was presented there was no cutlery with it and we had to wait to grab someone’s attention to get some. When the main was presented the waiter didn’t know which meal was whose. The same fish meal was ordered, one mild, one spicy but it took three waiters to decide which one was which after the second waiter had prodded each meal about to decide. Wonder if the poor service is due to the discount of 40% at the moment! Maybe you get what you pay for!! I have visited this place many times and have never had such a poor experience. Will not be tempted to visit again any time soon.More
