This is a hotel steakhouse with real steakhouse prices. Great location and very nice staff, but the food was not good. The chair legs were wobbly so I switched chairs. Not much better. The garlic butter on the steak was not necessary. It was REAL...strong. The sides were cold. The staff stand at the back of the restaurant and there are tables along the back so the choices are face the staff or have your back to the constant stream of traffic carrying, and occasionally dropping, the other guest's cutlery and meals. The bar area is separate from the dining room but the doors are open so the raucous crowd in the bar ruins the ambience of a fine dining establishment. I don't know what could be done to change the situation. The staff were all doing their best but the whole place is just average at best. The prices are ridiculous for the value. The manager gave us a gift card for $25 and wished us a fine evening until we meet again. We passed the card on to diners waiting in line. It's just not very good food.More

It looks like a steak house; open, elegant and dark wood. The steaks were great, but after all, it's a steak house. What puts this place over the top is offering a trio smaller (Really? These are smaller?) sides. Go for the broccolini if it's...still around, the carpaccio too.More

Any time I stay at the Downtown Hilton in Milwaukee, I make it a point to enjoy dinner at The Chophouse. Everything on the menu is delicious and cooked to perfection. The oysters are a good deal, too!

As I walked in, I expected a stuffy restaurant with stuffy wait staff. What I received was a Best In Class experience from tremendous wait staff (and management) who cared about my opinion (and, bonus, really GREAT food!). I was impressed by Emma who (when...I was unsure of what I was drinking) simply found the wine label in the computed and Mike who was 100% on his game by knowing Basketball enough to converse with the bar patrons. I hope everyone has a chance to experience this Best In Class Experience at Milwaukee ChopHouse!! Special thanks to Emma and Mike!!More

Heather why didn’t you come make to Ask us how our dinner was. Because it was cold and I asked for a medium fillet and the picture looks like rare. I asked the manager if this is medium and he said yes. This is bad.

Took too long for food made me pay $5 per slice for cutting my own cake I brought in and I was told I couldn't cut it myself for safety reasons but they allow me to cut my steak I order with a big steak...knife go figure waitress was suppose to be our own personal waitress for the night paid higher gratuity for that reason but she left us unattended for long periods of time because she was waiting on other tables and the food was mediocre but have not written off I believe in second chancesMore

Out with friends to celebrate an anniversary. Cheese came out right away (the truffle cheese was delicious) soups arrived shortly thereafter. Then we had a wait, and a longer wait. The Maitre 'd came and offerd us another round on the house. The food took...some time and some of us were less than impressed once it strived but once again our Server and Maitre 'd made every effort to make it right. We've eaten there before and the level of effort from the staff to make up for a challenging night did not go unnoticed. They care about their restaurant and customers and that goes a long way. We'll certainly be back!More

It was my birthday. I decided to celebrate by seeing my favorite band on Halloween in Milwaukee, spend the night at a good hotel and eat waht I hoped would be an amazing steak dinner. I was at the Hilton, so Chopped was a natural...selection. The hosts and servers were attentive and treated this single customer as they would a full table. Points. But lets talk about the food... my expectation for an another year on the calendar. When I cut into the steak, it was cooked to perfection - juicy and pink in the center with a great char. And then I tasted it... to find it was the single most beautiful salt lick I have seen. The beauty of a perfectly cooked steak was spoiled by so much salt, I could feel my feet swell with each bite. The scallops were almost as salty, but their sweetness manages to cut through the acidic sting on my tongue. Thankfully, I was given a complimentary desert by a smiling server. The crème brulee was, thankfully, not salty, but actually worth giving a positive review - the crust was perfectly caramelized, the brulee had the fine texture of a cloud with the perfect sweetness. Yet even after a masterpiece of desert, it took three bottles of water in my room until the sting of salt disappeared. The chef at chopped need to learn the difference between spicing and killing flavor. It was a choice cut and cooked to near perfection, but scandalously ruined and treated as simply a target for a sodium chloride bomb, Unless you enjoy eating salt by the spoonful, are willing to pay top dollar for the privilege of having a choice cut of beef a-SALT-ted until its flavor is little more than barnyard salt lick, I would avoid this restaurant. The way they ruin steak is a shame.More
