We eat at Beans on Sundays for breakfast and are always very happy with the service and food. I often order the tofu scrambler and my husband orders challah French toast or the farmers omelet. There is typically something your child will find on the menu to enjoy. If you like clean, healthy , whole food eats, this place is... More

I love to come here for lunch and breakfast dates. During the week, it's a nice place to eat dinner and grade papers at the bar.

Breakfast quiche of the day served with potatoes and fruit was tasty and nicely served. Coffee was strong as we like it. Comfy place to meet up with friends. The eclectic mix of goods sold in the store were very interesting. We purchased olive oil. We liked this place and will return.

What's not to love about Beans & Barley? Great food, great staff, and you almost always run into a friend or make a new friend while shopping, or dining at the counter. Great selection of natural foods, and non meat alternatives. I had been purchasing the vegetarian chili for years before I realized it really was vegetarian! It is so... More

We have visited this stalwart of the East Side of Milwaukee many times. The appealing aspects of Beans are varied: Amazing food, fair prices, wonderful servers, cool vibe, great deli and market (while you are waiting for a table or need take away meals), options for vegetarians and non vegetarians...I could go on. Suffice it to say, this is our... More

When you walk in and are greeted with a food market, you have to venture into the restaurant to get the vibe that a lot of locals must like this place, because there could be a short wait. Totally worth it. Our server was a bit out of sorts, but can't let that ruin a meal! The food is good,... More

It's a deli, restaurant and small market with fresh produce. The restaurant borders on heath food with sprouts on most everything. Our lunches were healthy and organic as well as delicious. Service was prompt and waitress was immensely helpful. We enjoyed ourselves and were late launchers so we didn't feel rushed to leave.

We dallied in the attached grocery store which had some unusual items (scented soap from Provence, artsy nail clippers) and was a pleasant place to be while waiting a half-hour for a table. Once seated for lunch, the atmosphere was amiable and friendly with sunlight pouring in from windows on two walls. Their cream of tomato soup was delicious with... More

Had the sweet potato and black bean burrito without the cream sauce. Sweet potato can be hard to get right but the spice blend they use made it so, so good! Located in a cool neighborhood too.
