Step in off Mason Street and you enter an elegantly appointed restaurant with dark paneling and soft lighting. The staff is highly professional--a shout-out to our excellent server Graham--and the drinks and food are all outstanding. Lamb meatballs were a great starter. The seafood gumbo...give Louisiana a run for its money--obviously made from a deep and dark roux with nice zing and generous portions of seafood and meat, all tender as butter. My wife's pesto gnocchi was great. But my pan-roasted chicken may or may not be the best chicken I have ever had but it is right up there. They say the test for any good chef is whether he or she can perfectly roast a chicken. This chef passes with flying colors: crisp skin, moist meat in all parts of the bird, and a jus rich in flavor accompanied by a delightful sweet potato and mushroom hash. Perfect. No room for dessert but I highly recommend this cozy and delightful Milwaukee spot.More

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience at the Mason Street Grill. We walked in without a reservation and unfortunately, the dining area was all booked up so we grabbed a table in the bar. Our hostess/server was very attentive and kind. The food...was absolutely incredible. The mac n' cheese was the best I have ever had. Great experience.More

We enjoyed our meal here. The menu was well rounded and the wine list was plentiful. We especially enjoyed the seafood gumbo and lobster gazpacho. The marinated steak skewered were a bit on the dry side, especially for a steak place. The curry was great....Sonwe enjoyed our meal, but not quite as much as the final bill showedMore

Excellent steak with a great wine selection and wonderful wines. Some of the best in the US. Mac and Cheese with Bacon is a must.

Table service in the bar area is incredibly slow. Plan on waiting a week for a drink or to place an order. Please tell me it’s not like this on a weekend night. This is embarrassing. I blame management, not the one bartender.More

We had a wonderful 33rd anniversary dinner here in late November! I stopped by before dinner and dropped off a present for my dear wife to be delivered with dessert. Our waitress and the Grill staff didn't bat an eye. We had very fresh, well-presented...salads (chopped and Caesar) to start followed by a perfectly-cooked mid-rare filet topped with (unbroken) Béarnaise for me and delicious short ribs for her. The surreptitious gifting by our waitress with dessert was flawless and the shocked and happy look on my darling's face was priceless. We'll be back to the Mason Street Grill!More

Recently visited the Pfister and as part of my room packaged received food credit which we used here. I am vegetarian and asked the server for recommendations to accommodate my dietary restrictions and he gave me a number of options without hesitation. I ended up...ordering a pasta dish with mushrooms in place of beef, my companion ordered the petit filet and we had two sides. The server was very attentive but not disruptive. The wine was good and there were plenty of options available by the glass. When the server heard it was my birthday he brought out a complimentary dessert which was decadent and delicious. All the staff wore masks and I felt comfortable that we were appropriately seated away from other diners.More

I work say no but I would go with a comfortable country club casual. This way you are not under or over dressed. No sweats or baseball hats.
