The chocolate ice cream was so rich and creamy. Also bought some yummy cheese curds and a baguette. Nice store with lots of wine and cheese to choose from.

Stopped by on a day trip on the Great River Road, picked up some cheese, lamb summer sausage, jams, cookies and much more. Place is really cool inside (wine tasting room is beautiful! ) staff is wonderful, huge selection of cheese, meats and wine. We decided to stop back by for a meal because it was so cute inside and... Always a favorite. A quaint little restaurant with small eating areas inside and outdoors. Plus, a beautiful wine room with gorgeous floor to ceiling windows, and a fireplace. After your meal, you can purchase bottled wine, beer, (some of them only sold here), cheese, snacks, and yummy, numerous flavors of ice cream cones. We had chicken salad and tuna sandwiches... More

We stopped by on a trip around Lake Pepin. The butter pecan ice cream rivaled Izzy's which is our favorite ice cream shop. The fresh baguettes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which is just they way they should be. We tried a couple of cheeses and both had good texture and flavor, but were a... More

We stopped by this cheese shop while driving along Wisconsin 35 on our way to Prairie du Chien. It isn't much to look at from the outside, but the inside is gorgeous. there's a large show room with retail sales of cheeses, and some souvenirs. There's a beautiful bar and room with fireplace where I just wanted to snuggle in... More

If want to take a rest while travelling along the Upper Mississippi Valley and enjoy a fine bottle of wine or simply an ice cream you cannot go by the Nelson Cheese and Creamery. Do your self a big favour and stop and try it out.
