I was one of a group of people between the age of 35-55 that met at Quaker to watch NCAA tournament. These were business men and women. Four of them had been there 3 hours, the rest of us about 30-45 minutes when the manager...More

The wings and appetizers are good. The atmosphere is fun, too! Also, just a fun place to stop for a drink. Summer season is busy with outdoor seating and bands on certain nights.

We were in the area for our son's 16th birthday. The friend that was with us said they have the best wings so we gave it a try. The decorating was right up the alley for a 16th year old boy as it is car...More

We stopped in at Quaker State for a sandwich the other day. It was a week night and around 5 or so. Not too busy, the staff was energetic enough. A couple of trainees that were learning the ropes were helping the waitresses. It took...More

I guess I should expect this type of restaurant, with TV screens all over, to be noisy, but last night seemed especially loud to me. The service was pretty slow and the food was meh! The blackened cod was sparse on fish, but tasty. The...More

This was perhaps the third time we have tried this location. The resturant was perhaps 75% full so we were seated right away on a Sunday night. The waitress was inattentive and strugged with the ordering system [tablet]. She did not return to our table...More

It was 1974 when our country had its first gas crisis. The price of gasoline was skyrocketing, gas stations were closing nationwide, and carmakers began exploring how to develop cars that got better mileage.

But for George "Jig" Warren III and Gary "Moe" Meszaros, it wasn't about better mileage or for that matter even obeying the new 55 M.P.H speed limit. It was about finding a home to preserve the culture of those old gas stations and high-powered muscle cars.

So was born Quaker Steak & Lube(R), a "Cook Your Own Steak" restaurant that gave old muscle cars a permanent home, which included a 1936 Chevrolet, frozen in time on the original hydraulic grease rack.

It is from these beginnings that the Quaker Steak & Lube(R) family of restaurants began. Today, "The Lube(R)" serves over 80 million wings annually, has bottled sauces for retail sale, has won the title of "Best Wings USA," and has hundreds of local, national, and international awards for their sauce recipes. Over 60 locations throughout the United States and Canada, "The Lube(R)" is still rescuing muscle cars, vintage cars, trucks and a vast selection of custom and antique motorcycles, giving them good homes hanging from the walls and ceilings in each restaurant.
