I am a "local" who grew up four miles away from the Owl's Nest and have eaten here, off and on, for many years. Our last trip there was for a Friday night fish fry. Both the fish and the crust were soggy and there was an "oil slick" on the serving plate. When this was mentioned to the owner's... More

When ordering the hay stack onion rings be sure to have at least 4 people to help eat them all, or order the half stack. That's just to go along with the family style Friday night fish fry all you can eat, deep fried cod, baked beans, coleslaw, fries. Before dinner have one of their famous old fashions, and after... The beer battered fish is the best I've ever had! It is light and not at all greasy. The cole slaw and ranch mashed potatoes were also very good. I come to WI at least once a year to visit family, and we always have a get-together at the Owl's Nest. I highly recommend it.

Friendly staff, food was good. Highly recommend the chicken, it's the best I've ever had! Would stop here again.

I was here for my company Christmas lunch. We were served fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, sliced ham, green beans, and rolls. The food was very good and hot even having to cook for about 50 people or so at one time.

We decide to go to a place based on recommendations usually. Owl's Nest is pretty popular with the locals in a three county area. A step up from a café, but quite dated in it's finishes. But very clean, no water stains on the ceiling panels or anything. Food is served "home style" and there is a lot of it.... More

Fantastic drinks, generous portions on the fish. Sides include baked beans marble rye, coleslaw. We preferred the beer battered but the hand breaded was good too. We had to try the pink squirrel ice cream drink after but it should have been for 4 people! Great value as we have lots of leftover fish too.

We were there on a Tuesday about 5pm. It wasn't busy and that was fine by me. Haven't been to this restaurant in over 20 years and I have no good reason for that. We walked in and were greeted like we were regulars. The bartender was a hoot and happy to tell us all about the menu and how,... More

The Owl's Nest is a pretty typical small town restaurant - the atmosphere is more school lunchroom than romantic interlude. For the residents in Poynette, it's a chance to see your neighbor and say hello and then dive in to some really good fish. Our usual is baked Cod and it comes with all the fixings. There's a cup of... More

Friday night tradition in our family! Wisconsin has lots of options for fish fry, but Owls Nest is by far our favorite! TONS of food. We order two fish fry for the four of us. Also always get an order of deep fried much rooms and onion rings.
