Drive several miles into the woods and you'll find the White Stag Inn. Located some miles north of Rhinelander, it's a most unlikely location to find such a fine restaurant. The interior brings back the "supper club" ambiance and the menu confirms it. Steaks, chicken and all done on a grill visible from your table. Busy with summer tourists, but... More

I've been driving by this place for 40 years and never stopped. Well the timing was right and we stopped in. What a treat! Good drinks ( crabby bartender see photo), good food and lots of it. Priced right. Will definitely stop again.

One of our favourite places to eat. So far, have liked everything we have tried. Husband likes steak and I like fish.

I have been to the White Stag at least 4 times. However, this is my first review. Not the place for you if your in a hurry. Great food. I have never had a bad meal. Drinks have always been made as specified. If you hit the White Stag at a busy time try to relax as service tends to... More

I am from new york area east coast and not use to Midwest dining. My wife is from Rhinelander so she is familiar with this place and brought me there. The lettuce is nothing i have seen before, chopped in 4 big chunks, nice fresh and crispy. the food is very good. I will definitely go again.

Had not been in the northwoods for a few years. Naturally, had to include the stag in our return plans. The meal remains fabulous. Iceberg lettuce chilled to perfection. Steaks, fish, and chicken as tasty as ever complimented by grilled onions and mushrooms. Bottom line: still the best.

The service was so poor that the waitresses were arguing in front of customers about who would not work a table. It was embarrassing to watch. My smoked Pork Chops were very good. My baked potato had a large grub in it and was disgusting.

Generally enjoyed our visit, service was good...our waitress Rose was excellent...salad and homemade dressin very good...dinner rolls awful, tasted like three week old hamburger buns...our dinner selection , cod dinner was great, ribeye was Ok, ( I suggest upgrading the meat especially for the price charged)...one major concern is how the chefs were handling food...fresh seafood and meat were handled... I went to this eatery on a Saturday evening with my husband and parents (they had been there before many times going back 30 years, husband and I had not been before). Bar opens at 4:30pm but they do not start serving food and seating people in the dining room until 5pm. The menu is one page, mostly different kinds... More
