We have been going here for years and have never been disappointed. Sue's specials are awesome. I personally like the salmon and my husband likes the duck w/raspberry sauce, as it''s partially de-boned. The ribs are the best in the area. And let's not forget Ted's Old Fashion's the best in the northwoods/ Love this place all year round.

Fantastic as always! My favorite restaurant in the Northwoods. Garlic or bourbon tenderloin never fails. Ahi Tuna is a rare treat.

I was surprised in many ways. 1-I found it not easy to find, 2- we got a table ( it is small and no reservations, 3- the prices (food and beverage) were higher than most local eateries of similar size and fare. The service was good and friendly and the food prepared and delivered hot. We had the local tradition... More

Shady Sue's reminded me of the supper clubs of the past. The food was excellent, hot and some of the specials were rather creative. We waited to go to dinner around 7pm on a Sunday evening but heard this place gets really busy on Friday and Saturday night. I had the fried chicken which was tender and juicy. My husband... More

While the food wasn't bad the gravy was not home made, I detest canned gravy. The Cole slaw was served in a plastic cup. The other reviews I read made this sound a bit posh, but it was just OK country cooking. And the dessert was definitely not large enough to share with a friend. I was disappointed.

We have been here other times for prime rib & grilled shrimp & have loved our meals, so thought we'd try their Friday fish fry. All three of us had the 3 pc Haddock & agreed there are many other options in this area that we much prefer for a fish fry. If we return we would possibly try the... More

I really wanted to like this place because I thought it might be one of those places that looked like a whole in the wall but had great food. Sadly, the latter was not true. My husband and I ate here 3 times to give it a chance, but we were dissappointed each time and will not be back. The... More

Went to shady sues for dinner and as usual Ted the bartender was attentive and friendly. Dinner was great, had blackened salmon. It was moist and had great flavor.

Good food, good drinks, great service. We have been a couple of times and both times were a great experience. The bartender was pleasent and our waitress was very efficient and nice.

The drink of choice Up North is the "Old Fashioned", and the best place to enjoy it is at Shady Sue's in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere is fun and truly representative of the Northwoods - Ted, the bartender, makes the best Old Fashioned drink around!!! The restaurant is small and can become busy and crowed around... More
