This place is an iconic spot in Door County. Don't let the wait times keep you away - they have a nice shop you can visit while waiting for a table. It can be a bit crowded, but it is a pretty place, and they do have good service. The famous Swedish pancakes are wonderful with lingonberry jam. They do... More

Goats on the roof?! Really?! Sure it's a gimmick, but a fun one. We came to see the goats a couple of days before, but the weather wasn't good, so they weren't up there. But when we showed for breakfast, there they were, grazing all over the roof. We even Facetimed our 3-yr old granddaughter so she could see them,... More

My daughter and I returned to Al Johnsons for a quiet birthday lunch at 11 a.m. Al's son Lars was busy in the restaurant greeting guests with also special hellos to the kids. Familiar serving staff also treated everyone like family and checked in appropriately. We had Swedish pancakes and meatballs as traditional as grandma's, nice turkey club, soup (Friday... More

Fun restaurant to eat. Good food , nice service and do a little shopping while you wait or after you eat. During the summer enjoy the goats eating grass on the roof.

We love going here for dinner. This is the first time I have had the Swedish pancakes. Interesting combo of pancakes and Swedish meatballs for breakfast but it works. Service was very friendly and efficient

Quaint. But the goats on the roof will only go so far in taking your attention away from truly mediocre food. I have tried to like this place, eaten here half-dozen times and as my husband says "Well, it's hot, brown and there's lots of it" but that is about all I can say about the food. Won't go again.

What's not to love?? Goats on the roof and Swedish pancakes! Yes it's a touristy place with actual goats on the roof and servers in Swedish clothing but we really enjoyed our breakfast. The Swedish pancakes were great! They have a large gift shop which makes the wait for a table rather enjoyable.

The holiday Julbord dinner was a fun experience on our girls' weekend trip to Door County. Lots of interesting choices of Swedish foods to try and a cozy atmosphere. The desserts were especially yummy, especially the shortbread and cherry bread pudding. We were sad that the Butik closed right before we left, though :(

My son and I were done hunting for the day and decided we should try someplace for breakfast. Winter in door county equals not many places open. We went in to eat. The smells were great. Got a table right away. I had the Swedish pancakes with eggs and sausage. Added the America. Fries also. Everything about this meal was... More
