I first went to Suisan when I was in Hilo on vacation, and have made a point to go every time I am back in town, even on a short work day trip in December. They have the best poke around!!

My Hawaiian family recommended Suisan Fish Market for a quick lunch en route to the volcano. I was stunned at the numerous choices of fresh poke (chunks of raw fish with various spices and marinades), which you could get with rice or a salad. I had one with mango which was quite delicious and the others had more spicy variations.... More

Great fish market to grab poke while you're in Hilo. Not much room to eat outside, but there's several parks and picnic tables to have a lovely bite. We got the spicy ahi and the shoyu, the spicy ahi was a bit better, but it's hard to go wrong.

Best selection and poke on the Big Island! We also purchased some Mahi Mahi that fresh and very reasonably priced. The poke bowls are a good size and decently priced. Leftovers go on sale at the end of the day, but the selection is limited by then.

This is the spot to find the freshest catch in town. Great prices on whole fish, fillet, or prepared poke. When I stop in to take home dinner fillets I can nearly never resist grabbing lunch. (Poke plate is the way to go!) Delicious food and great service. I will be back again and again!

Huge portions, friendly staff, cheap eats, tasty! We stopped by on a gloomy afternoon for a late lunch. We had never had this kind of food before. The staff had to explain the menu and options before we could even start ordering. We tried a few of the pokes before getting poke bowls. The spicey tuna and octopus poke were... More

Last year I went straight to Suisan for my sashimi slab and red fish for steaming. This year I wanted to save time by shopping close to home and was so disappointed by the choices at several places. Ended up back at Suisan and was so happy. Suisan will always be the 1st place I go for fresh fish.

Poke is a raw fish mixture that is most delicious I prefer the Hawaiian style, with seaweed, but the Korean style was also good. High volume so you know the fish is fresh.

Great prices on their fresh seafood and quick, helpful service. A great place if you are going to do some of your own cooking.

This poke place was in walking distance of where my husband and I stayed in Hilo, so we stopped every day of our stay for lunch or just an appetizer. Their Hawaiian style Aki Poke was okay and so was their Shoyu Poke, but what we could not get enough of, was their crab salad and spicy lobster salad. Everything... More
