We found Ken's House of Pancakes only a couple of days before we had to go home. We made it our "go-to" eatery for our remaining time in Hilo. The menu was large & varied & the prices, compared to other restaurants, were great. Very...More

We went to see what all the talk was about...Kens is an institution for locals for decades. The restaurant was a throwback to 1970's with wore table tops and orange seating cushions. Many locals packed the place at lunchtime. They had all sorts of choices...More

My wife and I visited here for breakfast and dinner on seperate days. Basically a 60's type dinner, slightly tired and worn, but with an excellent selection of food, nothing fancy, at sensible prices. Quite busy and very popular with the locals. Open 24/7. The...More

This place is always hopping & they are a jack of all trades when it comes to breakfast to lunch foods. Nothing to crave, but nothing to turn down.

My wife and I were intending on driving around the island so we thought we would have a good breakfast to set us up, for the journey ahead. We were glad we did! I had the equivalent of a full English breakfast and my wife...More

This place is super easy to find. Ken's is open 24 hours. It's a great place to grab something after Merrie Monarch and it has great breakfasts. The pancakes are the best. Big and fluffy with homemade coconut syrup is not to be missed. Great...More

We arrived late and tired after a terrific Manta Ray tour. It was only 20 minutes before they closed. Staff was so friendly, and were happy to serve us. Yummy pancakes and sausages. Big portions. They never rushed us, let us stay after they officially...More

Great food at a reasonable price. The parking lot is always full, for a reason! We ate there the first night, and after that the family always chose Ken's when eating out. Huge menu with Hawaiian staples like loco moco, but also plenty of mainlander's...More

Breakfast was incredible. The portions are large and the food is high quality. I had buttermilk pancakes. Served with the pancakes was a trio of syrups: coconut, guava and passion fruit. Great value. Would return and bring friends and family. Service as Hawaiian style.....but friendly....More

Is there typically a long wait in the morning? Is the the service fast? Trying to budget time for the day, and what time to get up to get our day in.

Yes fast service
Is it a family type restaurant? I am trying to estimate how much I need to budget for for on my vacation to Hilo, HI. I would like to know what the average price for a meal is. Debbie

I'm not sure of the average price, because they have tons of options. It is a family restaurant, but prices at any restaurant in Hawaii generally are higher than many places on the mainland.
Average price of meal such as hamb, fries and drink or average breakfast?
