This is essentially a Hawaiian version of an old-fashioned American-style eatery. They serve breakfast all day and we enjoyed really well-prepared veggie omelets. Maybe even better than the food (which was very good) was the great, friendly service that made us feel like they were...More

Great food - wonderful wait staff. This is obviously a popular place, and seldom does not have a waiting list or line out front. I would make this a must stop anytime I'm on the Big Island.

For a long time, this was our favorite restaurant - you could find us there on most Friday nights for dinner (and also some other local families). You can imagine our disappointment when they decided to not do dinner anymore, not even on one night...More

Friendly local restaurant. Lots to choose from on the menu from octopus to fried rice omelet, or cheeseburger and fries.

Very nice alternative to Waipi'o Cookhouse which we found closed, Gramma's prepares basic comfort food really well. Staff are friendly and helpful and prices excellent for quality and quantity of food.

Gramma's Kitchen is rather small, so I'm pretty sure they won't take reservations. When we visited on a Saturday in November, they were closing at 3 pm. Be sure they are open or, come between 1-2:30
