This restaurant offers excellent food and service. They feature fresh local ingredients and the food is carefully prepared and presented. I wish we had eaten here the first night because we would have returned. The chef blends European cooking with island flavors. My husband had...More

My wife and I dined here on our first night in Volcano. The restaurant has a comfortable, cozy feel (not too warm as someone else commented on). Service was a bit slow, but was friendly and helpful. I had the Leg of Antelope Filet which...More

I love great food! When I am eating food that is only average, like the very bland quinoa on my plate and Ahi swimming in a sweet sauce, it is just okay. Chutney on the side would have been preferred. The delightful surprise was the...More

Thank you for writing your honest opinion about the quinoa and the too much sauce. Some diners really enjoy the quinoa...I am not a fan. I'm hoping Albert will find a solution. and the swimming sauce is a big No No. Our cooks will hear...More

If you want a delicious gourmet meal this is the place. The foot is beautifully presented and the best meal we had on the Big Island. You won’t be disappointed.

You won't find that this is a moderately-priced restaurant but the service was quite good, the food was above average and the drinks were both strong and very generous! I would definitely go here again.

Pleasant surroundings and attentive staff. But, the food was really quite mediocre. Am not sure I would go there again for dinner.

This is one of the best restaurants on the east side of the island. We found out after we ate there, that our friends in Hilo will go there for dinner on an occasion. With that in mind, there seemed to be a lot of...More

We ate here for the second time and again enjoyed our meals. The service was better this time and very friendly. I had the antelope and it was prepared beautifully! My only complaint is the heat...the dining room was so hot we couldn't wait to...More

A established, accomplished restaurant with an interesting menu specializing in game such as venison. Plenty of other dishes to choose from including local seafood. Well prepared and delivered. Wait staff very professional, well trained, and knowledgeable. A bit robotic in delivery, probably from giving the...More

Included dinner at Kilauea Lodge. It is a refreshing lodge-like feeling with a fire burning in the large fireplace in the dinning room. It was especially welcoming on a rainy night. The wine list was nice and well priced. The food was cooked to perfection....More

Aloha. if you stayed in the Hale Maluna rooms (1-4) they are smaller than the Hale Aloha rooms because they are part of the historic YMCA buildings from 1937. The beds are more firm than soft, and it is difficult to... More

My husband jokingly said no puka pants and shirt. Actually we just advise casual elegance (jeans Clean shirt ) a lot of our diners come off the trail so fancy is not required. But honestly we even see fur wraps sometimes

Description
Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant, located in the quiet village of Volcano, sits on 5 acres of gardens and gazebos and native forest. This hotel restaurant features a large fireplace, local art, koa tables, and is open nightly. Chef/owner Albert Jeyte blends flavors from his European background with farm, ranch and seafood products from Hawaii, the surrounding Pacific and elsewhere. Volcano Village is at 3700 feet elevation and evenings are often cool and misty. The historic fireplace welcomes guests with it's cheery fire. Home made soups and breads tease the appetite. Albert specializes in unusual game...venison, antelope, rabbit, duck. The biggest sellers are local fish dishes; ahi, ono, mahimahi and the exotic Tristan lobster. A large wine list complements the eclectic menu.
