We walked to this shop several times during our stay to grab fresh poke and burgers to grill. The Foodland up the road was better to stock up on milk and cereal. Island Gourmet’s poke selection was worthy of the $19.99 per pound price vs $9.99 per pound at Foodland. Also the convenience to our resort made it a safe bet for last minute items.

This market is so many stores rolled into one. A deli, a bakery, a grocery store, a clothing store, a souvenir shop etc. We had rented a condo across from shopping area and found so many of the thing we needed right here. They have great tasting breakfast lunch and dinners at reasonable prices and a little area to eat right outside. They have shirts, suits, hats, suntan lotion and gifts. The workers are very friendly and helpful.

We splurge on the hotels and resorts in Waikoloa, and we eat here to save some money. The food is good, reasonably price, with lots of choices and daily specials and we like sitting on the patio outside while we eat. My favorite place to get my Loco Moco fix and we love the milk tea bar as well. It's part of the ABC Store chain, and you can pick up groceries, toiletries and gifts as well.

If you travel outside of the resort area for your grocery shopping you might be disappointed as we were. However, people staying in the resort you probably find this store quite helpful. For us this "gourmet market" was not what we thought it should be. The store was over crowded with merchandise of all types indoor/outdoor merchandise and nick knacks. The food section of this store is quite disorganized and forcing you shop all over the place to find your needed items, if found them at all. Prices we found as compared to other grocery stores in the are are higher.

First of all it is ridiculous that they don't have any vegetarian sandwiches or toasties, not even tomato and mozzarella. It is not hard to make vegetarian food! Only after did we see that you can make your own toastie but the lady did not even suggest this when we enquired so we didn't bother. Can't even get baked beans for breakfast over here as they only have them with pork. There is a lot of snacks you can purchase and all the basics i.e milk, eggs and water. Surprised at how expensive the vegetables are, only single tomatoes represented good value but it may be just the way the area is. With their prices it may be cheaper just to eat out if you are a couple. Had poor service on at least two occasions, found the staff unfriendly and rude. Only once there was a pleasant lady that told us about the $100 gift spend, the others could do with some training. In comparison the staff at the whalers general store in King's, are much more courteous.

The food and drink, once we got it, was quite good, but let me tell you about the process. First, this restaurant is located within an ABC store in the Queen’s Marketplace. We wanted a sandwich and a poke bowl with iced tea and a lemonade. While my lady found us a table outside, I went to the sandwich area, waited for a server to notice me and placed an order for the roast beef sandwich with Brie. The server gave me a receipt and told me to go pay for it at the cash register. OK, but where is the poke station? She waved and said “Over there.” Well, that was across the entire store, passing through the merchandise. I ordered the poke bowl with brown rice and the server made it up, gave me the bowl and another receipt. To get the drinks, I went to the drink station and waited again to be recognized. I finally made the order and got another receipt. While the drinks were being made, I went to pay to the register. While waiting in line, another clerk motioned me to another station, again across the store. Back to pick up the sandwich and the drinks, the server asked me to clarify which plain iced tea did I want? Mango, lilikoi or..... I said just plain green tea, please, and went out to our table to drop off the meals. Back to get the drinks which came with straws to pierce the sealed plastic lids. I asked about table ware and was directed to the coffee bar where the plastic forks in plastic bags were located. For napkins I was directed back to the cash register. I was not a happy diner by this time. Find someplace to eat.

This store has a great selection of produce, fish, beer, wine, tourist items. AND prepared foods, made to order food, Sushi, pastries, breakfast, lunch, dinner….plus for 25 cents you get a reusable bag that is really handy to take to the beach. I wish we had stayed in Waikoloa longer just so I could have patronized this store more times!

Market is open till 11 pm so we stop there to buy provisions for next day breakfast at our condo. Now they have added lot of take out including freshly made sushi and hawaiin plates which are very reasonable priced. Very well stocked market with reasonably priced stuff.

This is the grab and go place for prepacked meals. The Honey Dijon wraps were our go to...3 days in a row. We also enjoyed the convenience of being in the Waikoloa area. The Christmas special meal of Prime rib, potatoes, steamed veggies for $130 fed our family of 5 and we had leftovers. It was very good!

The Island Gourmet is a most unusual store within an easy distance for the Waikoloa Beach community. They have almost everything that a vacationer or part-time resident can use. The range is from sushi , prepared foods , malasadas , poke bowls, alcohol , reasonably priced souvenirs and basic food items. Some of the prices are higher than big stores and the selection isn't as extensive but it is convenient and can be well worth your time. The quality is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The Island Gourmet is owned and operated by ABC Stores. It is 1/3 Liquor Store. 1/3 Tourist Store (T-shirts, beach slippers, etc.) and 1/3 Food. A good portion of the food store is a deli. There are some fresh foods and packaged goods, but it's not a full grocery store and the grocery items they do have are extremely expensive. Go into Kona or up to Waikoloa Village for a full-service grocery store if you're in a condo and really wanting to prepare meals. The tourist items are competitively priced but the food and liquor are convenience store priced. Also they don't supply shopping bags so you can buy them for 25 cents each or bring your own.

POKÉ, POKÉ, POKÉ!!!!! My favorite place to get a poké bowl! Oh my goodness they make an insane poké bowl with the best protein quality and quantity! The plain poké bowls are $5.99 for 1/4 lb and about $10 for 1/2 lb. However, I highly recommend the getting the build-your-own which comes with brown or white rice, 1/2 lb protein which can be as 1/2 and 1/2 selection and comes with one of 6 or so sauces and with 2 add-on toppings for $12.99. I have eaten here 3 times in the last week! My favorite is brown rice with classic Hawaiian Ahi Style and Spicy Ahi with sweet chili sauce cucumbers and massago. While some places offer you more options like lettuce and rice types and many more toppings. There van be no doubt that This place has the very best freshly made Poké! Best Poké ever.

Believe it or not but this place was recommended by the manager of another restaurant. It is so convenient as a grocery store to pick up a few things, a little gift shopping but the action at the deli area is crazy busy. The menu from breakfast to dinner is huge. They even have prepackaged food, pizza (individual and large) and salads. Grocery items are expensive but if you are staying in a nearby condo and need one or two items this in really handy.

My family and I were on vacation in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area and I went to Island Gourmet Markets a number of times primarily to get food. The poke and sushi were really good. They also had a good selection of items for the kids. Our girls are 6 & 8 and they loved the corn dogs, chicken tenders, fresh fruit and the Ube pancakes. They also carried Ube cookies. They were so good that this was one of the reasons I went there almost every day. It's not 100% clear what to do when ordering food that needs to be prepared. Once you place your order, you take the ticket to the cashier, pay for it, then come back to the hot food area and wait for your food to be ready. They should have a sign to explain the process. At times this area of the store can get busy so be prepared to wait. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well organized. If you are looking for a store with a little more of the local flavor I would recommend the KTA store in Waikoloa Village which is ~15 minutes away.

I dont think I've ever been to a store that has a market, a restaurant, bakery, wine bar and an outdoor dining area in a same location. You could save $$$ on meals. And the food is very good. If you're in Waikoloa area, it located in the Queens shopping area.
