This is a long-time local favorite right in Lihue. The food is great and reasonably priced. Their bathroom is located outside the restaurant and is not very good so I always try to use the bathroom before arriving at the restaurant.

Kiibo has authentic Japanese food. We went for dinner on a Monday night. We were slightly disappointed to find out they only serve sushi on the weekend. I had the cold soba noodle dish which is not something I would have chosen myself but was suggested by the waitress. I am so glad I tried it. It was great!

This small restaurant serves authentic Japanese dishes and the best chicken teriyaki I have had anywhere outside of Japan. Terrific! The sukiyaki, again, is the best I have had outside of Japan. And the noodle dishes are great. Many other delicious dishes are available without the offering of sushi and sashimi. This authenticity is do to the owner and chef... More

We ate here our first night in Kauai. The waitress helped us order. The waitress said that the chef is about 80 and makes all of his dishes from scratch. Everyone was pretty happy with their food. They have cute little kids meals. Their noodles were good. The food was a little expensive, but it was good.

We tried this restaurant for the first time. It is tucked away on a tiny side street off RIce St. in Lihue. The food was excellent as was the service. Portions were sufficient. Hubby had mackerel and I had sukiyaki. Both were delicious. The place seems to be patronized by local residents, always a good sign. They do not serve... More

Good because it's byob. The dishes are a little small but affordable. We shared and entrée and ordered one each that was perfect. The downside is you smell like tempura when u leave.

It is surprising that there are so few Japanese restaurants on Kauai. This is probably one of the best of those, but I wouldn't drive from Princeville. We drove in from Poipu and had better than average sukiyaki, fresh butterfish, and superb ahi sashimi. There is no sushi. The decor is basic no-frills Japanese which kind of describes the dining...
