Our first meal out on Kauai is at Tip Top! Hubby's fave Oxtail Soup was delicious. I had Brownie's Special ~ hamburger steak with excellent fried onions, 3 wing ding, mac salad, fried noodles (LOVE the sesame oil flavour) and rice (side of gravy included). OMG, I love it here so much that I "ahhh-ed" when I took my first... More

Best place for pancakes! We love the macadamia nut pancakes. We tried several other places for breakfast but keep returning to Tip Top. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. They have a good menu with variety and reasonable prices. The restrooms are clean.

Tip Top is well worth the trip. As stated, it is NO FRILLS. We shared loco moco and banana mac pancakes. Both dishes were delicious. I am not normally a heavy breakfast eater. There is no question that loco moco is a meal fit for a lumber jack. It is not a pretty plate, but it tastes great. I am... More

This is THE place to eat if you want to go where the locals go! We got there in time for lunch. Don't wait, they close early! No thrills or frills and the locals are the ambiance! I couldn't have choosen a better place to try the infamous "loco moco" dish and it was DELISH! Who knew a hamburger, brown... More

Good food and great service . We have eaten here twice now . Lunch we had the burger and a ham and bacon sandwich. The bacon and ham were great! Next we had to go back for breakfast to try the pineapple pancakes which were yummy as well. The service is the fastest you have ever seen and don't worry... More

We always hit Tip Top several times a week when we are on Kauai, especially for breakfasts, which are fresh and served with efficiency and smiles for everyone. Huge macadamia, pineapple, buttermilk or banana pancakes are sure winners - accompanied by coconut or maple syrup - with local sides of rice or hash browns, eggs cooked to order, a variety... More

The waitress was very honest in telling us that the pineapple pancakes that had been recommended were not fresh pineapple but they were excellent anyways. They also had coconut syrup that was a good addition. Overall a good eating experience at a very reasonable price - don't expect cushy surroundings. We loved the food.

I was here for the beef stew and the oxtail soup. I know that is weird for some people, but that's what I like.

This is a down-home traditional Hawaiian restaurant. Everything is clean and simple and in-place. I have been here before and will make sure I return every time I visit Kauai. The menu has everything you want and the prices are reasonable. The only problem is I always order my two favorite dishes Saimin and Ox tail soup which are both... More
