Nice atmosphere, but horrible food, staff with an attitude. To the attention of the owner: Selling pastry which has gone stale is dishonesty, if you have a supply problem on Sundays, just remove whatever is left from the days before rather than trying to sell...old, dried out croissants. I can't comment about your whole staff, but the lady at the counter seemed to be more interested in chatting with her friends at the back of the line rather than focusing on the customer who tries to order. Also she seems to think that wearing a mask properly is not cool, pulling it off the nose is not acceptable.More

Today, the same order I made yesterday, coffee and cinnamon roll, cost $1.35 more. I requested a gorgeous cinnamon roll from the display table. Instead, the server grabbed a flattened roll from the delivery bin and stuffed it into a small paper bag, coating the...interior of the bag with icing. I asked her why couldn't I have the displayed roll? Her response, 'then I would have to put another roll out for display'. I asked the person who identified herself as being in charge about my option of selecting the products and the increased cost. The other staff member removed her face mask to tell me, 'It's just not my day'. The coffee given to me was hand temperature. Later in the day, I called the cafe and asked to speak with Emmanuel. I was told that I must have the wrong number. Maybe the employees could make more $s on unemployment?More

We recently went to Java Cafe for lunch. We were a family of six. Between us we ordered 5 different items from their menu. Everyone was satisfied with their choice; everything was freshly prepared and tasty. We couldn’t leave without sampling their very yummy almond...croissants which pair so well with their great coffee! There’s ample parking and Covid protocols were evident. Don’t be surprised to see a large number of police cruisers parked outside as this is also a favourite of the local constabulary.More

We had the avocado toast and the waffle... the waffle was one of the top 5 I’ve ever had. It had bananas, blueberries, and almonds on it but the waffle itself was an amazing experience.

This place became a regular morning stop during our stay - even though there were probably a dozen coffee shops closer to our house. They sell amazing mixed cold press juices in mason jars - my fav was the BurnMaster blend with grapefruit, lime, ginger,...apple, and turmeric - and I had to drink one every day at the beach. If you bring the jar back in they’ll make you a med coffee drink in it and only charge you for a small. The smoothies and breads (banana, mango, etc) are also addictive and they have some food gluten free bars. Very cute spot with several restaurants nearby, including Coconuts (two doors down) which has a fantastic award winning fish taco.More

I found the coffee here to be ordinary. The cafe itself looks very funky and welcoming and has trendy (although pricy) juices in mason jars however, I found the coffee on the disappointing side, the flavour was almost burnt. I'd have to go back a...second time and see if it was a one off.More

This place makes wonderful coffee...... IF you can get what you ask for. My husband learned after a couple of surprise coffees which were not as he ordered, to observe the barista and intervene when necessary to keep to what he ordered. ( Instead of...what they thought you should have) This morning we ordered 3 coffees as a family, a 16 oz and 2 x 12oz take outs. The first one was made correctly. The other two were made in ceramic small cups (I’m guessing around 6 oz). So they were then poured into take out cups, not remade. After we had left then discovered both had milk in them. Being dairy intolerant mine went straight down the sink. What a waste of money. To the wait staff, baristas, if you are reading this, please just listen! Make what is ordered and if in doubt, please just check with the customer. We are right there waiting for our order. Also, 3/4 or 2/3 full does not seem to compute. Anything less than full seems to translate to half full. To customers : if ordering directly from the menu there should be no problems. However, be warned that you are likely not to receive what you order if there are any tweaks. The very slow service would be happily tolerated if one gets what one orders!More

Bright, cool and clean. Large solid table which held many people for a meet/greet kind of gathering. We met just after noon till 2pm. Not crowded but by our group. Serves glass mason jars of fresh juices in a handy cooler near the register. Did...not check out their pastries/desserts. Had several wraps served on nice plates with various fillings. The wraps weren't cut through completely, so it was tough to separate the slices for sharing. Also a few of the toothpicks to hold the sections were broken, so the eaters had to be careful of the wooden part not attached. Will return for another experience.More
