Your classic open-air beach/marina bar with way better-than-average BBQ. Live music offered most nights. Try to BBQ & smoked half chicken and ribs combo!

We were taking one last cruise through the island before heading home and came across the beach bar. The place itself was nice and clean, the staff friendly and the food ok. Maybe we have been spoiled living around Chicago and traveling around the South but for "the best bbq on Maui" I was not overly impressed. We got the... More

We were surprised that despite that clear fact that most of the travelers to Maui are middle class, the restaurants clearly cater to the wealthy. Food at moderately priced places like Beach Bums tends to be mediocre. I was expecting excellent fresh seafood and barbecue (we ordered some of each) here, but the food was all pretty bland. Also, the... More

My husband and I come to Maui almost every year. Though there are lots of great places to eat, we consistently come back to this restaurant. They have consistently great food and the service is always impeccable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating even to my finicky taste buds. Today they went out of their way to customize my... My parents love going here when they are in Maui. The restaurant is busy but still has a very relaxed feel. The menu selection is extensive. My husband had the bbq special. I had the mahi mahi wrap. All food was excellent. It's a good deal for what you get. I will definitely go back when I'm in Maui.

When we went on the Flyin Hawaiian Zipline, the tour guides highly recommended this place. We decided to go there after ziplining. The portions were very generous. Food was delicious. Beautiful view of the docks.

Best BBQ! Easily rivals BBQ in the bay area and yes that includes Oakland. Great comfortable atmosphere. Clearly the best food at the best price we had the whole trip. The Margs are good too.

Having just read a feature on this place in the Maui news we went. They are billed as the best BBQ in Maui and while the ribs and pulled pork were good the brisket (the gold standard of all good BBQ's) was tasteless and gristly which was disappointing. Happy Hour is a great deal on drinks (3-6pm $3.50 Mai Tais)... More

Stayed at a condo in Maalaea with 5 girlfriends for 8 wonderful days...discovered Beach Bums on Day 2... Had a great breakfast there! Jessica's service was great! We ending up buying a bunch of BB clothing as souvenirs--after admiring how cute they looked on the staff! We returned that night for their Lobster Fest, which was great as well. We... More

We usually always hit beach bums when in Maui- we have always had a good breakfast there with even better bloody Mary's. I wasn't impressed with their dinner!! My fish tacos were prett greasy and didn't seem very fresh my husbands prime rib was so-so. Table was a little sticky feeling, but staff was friendly. Atmosphere is always fun.
