I get the hype around this joint. It’s a very likable spot. Cozy yet professional. Caring, intelligent and engaging service, not overbearing nor too pretentious. The menu was excellent. Amazing combinations of flavors and textures and colors, and really original. The house levain equals tartine’s,...More

Gotta say this is probably the best upscale dining experience I have ever had. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive...while remaining laid back and unobtrusive. The atmosphere in the dining room is comfortable and relaxing. The food was creative and delicious. I recommend this...More

I had been wanting to go to Frances since it opened, but since I live in LA and only got to SF once or twice a year it was hard to get a reservation. Then I forgot about it. Then my bestie surprised me with...More

Definitely make a reservation to eat here. It’s a tiny place with limited seating. Food is excellent. A variety of choice but really delicious food. The steak and pork were excellent, as were the salads. Looking forward to the next visit!

My Airbnb host Mike took me here back in July of last year. One of the best meals I've had in my life. Add this restaurant to your bucket list when you're in San Francisco. I'm definitely coming back.

Read reviews online about this restaurant in the Castro and it’s Michelin star. Also read it’s very hard to get a table and you need to reserve weeks in advance. We decided to go early and try our luck. Glad we did. Amazing service, and...More

We went to Frances on the last night of our San Francisco vacation. This is a small and intimate restaurant with excellent food. The gem salad was an excellent appetizer (it is large, so two people can share it). We had the fish, which was...More

Frances is an a pleasant block in the Castro. Seating is tight, and they don't have a full bar. Gazpacho and duck were yummy. Service seemed a little snowed under on the Saturday night - the place was full. This is a nice restaurant, but...More

A flourishing commercial area that acts as San
Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart,
