The Café proved to be the perfect spot for a long dinner with friends from afar. We were greeted warmly and seated at a comfortable and quiet back table. Service was very attentive and helpful, answering all our questions and making good suggestions. The menu was quite extensive, with both three- and four-course pre-fixe options and many a la carte... My wife found this place in an app about chef's and decided to give it a try since we didn't know exactly what to expect. The place had delicious food and also it is a place where you can go for a regular cup of coffee or if you want to eat to your satisfaction. We enjoyed this place so... More

I love beginning my San Francisco day at Cafe de la Presse. My usual is an almond croissant with a side of perfectly-cooked bacon and their wonderful coffee. Can't wait for next time!

We needed a place to lunch after a busy museum morning. Helped out by a salesman at Gumps, who recommended this little bistro. Sat outside in the sun in March! (heater overhead) They even enhanced the atmosphere with all the patrons seated near us speaking french! Food was wonderful, a tart with shrimp and mushroom on a flatbread. We relaxed... More

Cafe de la Presse has a great location and ambiance. You pay for that with your order, however. I paid $11 for 2 eggs, a piece of toast and a serving of home fried potatoes. I did enjoy the food but I just want to warn future diners that the location is what you are paying for. Bon Appetit

Really nice atmosphere, buzzy breakfast. Tables at the front are really close together but they have more down the back When i asked for a quiet table, the guy who greeted me said 'Oh so you want a hiding table!' The eggs were perfect. They forgot the ham and brought it when we were two thirds through the meal, straight... More

Food snob alert! The only Vegan thing on the menu was a plain lettuce salad. The only vegetarian food was salad. No one spoke French. My mother had salmon and wild rice- huge portion but greasy. The chocolate cake was fair. Service quick and pleasant. The front 1/2 is a sports bar!! (French sports bar???) The restaurant is down several... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants and I choose to go to it as a destination. I had three meals here recently, my favorite meal being the swordfish. Wonderfully well prepared. I had a flatbread with prawns. Not my favorite, just a little too fishy for me. Nice wines by the glass, the Vigonier from France being a favorite.... More
