Such an eclectic and kitsch place! Quiet, calm, perfect to stop, take one of the wonderful teas and continue the SFO walking. Cookies are good and banana pudding is really good. The plate of granola with yogurt can keep you going all the whole morning. Really nice and different place.

We found this great little spot for breakfast around the corner from our condo in Nob Hill. The decor is comfortable and casual with lots of amusing trinkets that show the owners must have a great sense of humor. Great coffee and delicious bagel and lox breakfast sandwich!

Popped in here and found the vibe so chilled and friendly we could have stayed all day. Excellent coffee and hot chocolates. Unique decor and surroundings, I wish this was my local coffee joint.

The Gallery Cafe is situated at a very accessible place opposite the cable car museum. When you enter the cafe it's like a trip in a time machine. From the fifties until more recent years your eye will undoubtedly catch something out of your youth. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is helpful and friendly. The meatloaf is... More

Popped in here while waiting for cable car museum to open. Chai Latte will not disappoint. Cool decor and fun games for kids to play. Nice oasis in the city.

If I lived in the area we would be regulars at this cool, little spot. You order at the counter, the cashier was very knowledgeable and assisted us in selecting our sandwiches. Keep in mind that they take cash only! It's a eclectic place with board games, nook tables, and shelves of books you can read. Try the BLT sandwich... More

All kinds of old toys, signs, etc. Lots to look at - and I got to play with the electric train on the bar! Love the talking tables vs the computer tables. Great music, good food, and great ambiance.

Ordered my cup of coffee, walk over to the ATM, then noticed that it was out of service. The proprietor gave me the coffee for free. That's good service. The coffee tasted great. I'll be back here with some cash to spend some money. The coffee is dark roast, so I got a large cup half coffee half water. It... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
