There are a lot of great places to eat in SF, but this place has become of our top two places. On every trip to the city we try to go back. I wish we could give it six stars because it stands out from the other five star experiences we've had. First, it's small and intimate, a very warm... More

Service and ambiance could not have been better. However, I had the wine paring and found the wines obscure and in general not very interesting except for a nice Reisling and a Mendocino Pinot Noir. If I go back I will order half bottles of a white and a red. The food was good, but what I refer to as... More

We so appreciate the understated, beautifully restrained and elegant dining room, the perfect service and, of course, the simple, delicious food. This restaurant has earned its Michelin star with its graceful, not stuffy, ambience. We enjoyed the nine course tasting menu, leaving comfortable and satisfied, but not stuffed. We had caviar on a "nori dusted potato chip." How fun is... More

This is a hard review to write because describing perfectly simple isn’t easy. Do you remember the first time you discovered simple, elegant food done well? That time when you thought the presentation was beautiful but not overproduced? When you understood, for the first time, what flavor harmony really meant? When you could tell what each ingredient contributed to the... More

Wonderful food wonderful service even to the menu being personalised with our names. Greeted at the door by name to a hello from all the chefs nice touch. Great decor, 9 course degustation with matching wines. Well worth the reviews and accolades. Price $150 plus $89 for matching wines expensive with exchange rates but well worth it.

I had dinner at Son's and Daughter's with my wife during our wedding anniversary trip to SF. I had always been curious about the place but in prior trips never really made it and what a wonderful surprise. The restaurant really does honor its star. The tasting menu was impeccable. The service was superb, looking after every little detail and... More

So good restaurant have solid food and solid service. Often is one is slightly lacking the other can compensate. I will start off by saying the service here is nothing less than stellar. Attention to detail, courtesy and promptness are something that the staff was on top of the entire night. Now on to the food. I will say the... More

This is fine dining in a place where you feel comfortable in jeans. I read some reviews that indicated a lack of flavour and small portions and afterwards wondered what restaurant they had been. I agree that some plates were small, but once we had 9 courses, 3 breads, 3 amuse bouche, an extra plate of petite fours, and a... More

Is a prix fixe nine courses that also comes with around five or six amuse bouches and three different home made breads over the course of the evening. The food was $135 and the accompanying wine pairing was $89. There were seven different wines and each was at least half a glass; glad I did not drive after. The service... More

Sons & Daughters – we really like this restaurant. This was our second visit to Sons & Daughters, and in fairly rapid succession. We are in San Francisco, at least once per month, and often more, so we try to spread our dining around quite a bit. However, when I asked my wife, “Where would you like to eat?” she... More
