We have tried many of the top Italian restaurants in SF including Acquerello and La Ciccia. Seven Hills is right up there with all of the best spots. The food was incredibly well prepared with authentic flavours, the service was attentive but not too intrusive and the location and setting was cozy and romantic. Must try!

Excellent pastas and great service. Easy to be a vegetarian there with non-vegetarians. Delicious! Make reservations well in advance.

The food is excellent. They change the menu often. We went for a birthday celebration. Other friends go more often and they recommended it. If you know authentic Italian food, then you will enjoy every morsel. And do try a dessert. My chocolate one was divine.

A small, cozy and stellar neighborhood restaurant. Flawless modern Italian food using the freshest seasonal ingredients. I've been going here for several years and they never disappoint. Must have dishes when available are the raviolo and the eggplant parmesan stack, but there's not a miss on the menu. I've actually made dinner out of just multiple appetizers as well. You... More

Perfect combination of service and food. Our server David was exceptional, helpful, attentive, but not ever present. Lovely evening, the pate, the tortellini, squid ink pasta with fresh crab, and fish of the day were outstanding. It's not free, but it's worth every penny.

Let me be clear. We did not dine here but valiantly tried to. I first attempted to make an on-line reservation but was notified that the restaurant does not take on-line reservations after 5pm the day of (this was approx 6:15 pm). Fair enough. Was advised to call the restaurant which I did 3 times. No answer on any attempt.... More

On a recent visit to San Francisco I decided to host my brother's 40th birthday at my favorite California restaurant. The rainy weather only made our entrance into this cozy spot all the more pleasant as we were warmly welcomed by Nick the manager. It was a breeze to order family style for our party of five. Our first course... More

This place is a wonderful on multiple levels. The service is attentive and highly knowledgeable without being overbearing. The food is excellent in terms of preparation, design and execution. The location is quiet and atmospheric. One of the best places to eat in San Francisco and some of the best Italian food I have ever had.

So you have to guarantee your reservation by credit card for Seven Hills, but it is worth it (you can cancel within 24 hours notice). I doubt you can get in without a reservation, it's quite tiny. Our meal was perfect, beef carpaccio was the best we've ever had. Prosecco on the house once they found out it was the... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
