We had a wonderful experience at Z & Y and the food was all excellent. The beef pancake appetizer was so fresh and delicious, it left us wanting more. I would suggest booking a reservation at the restaurant. We went on a Saturday night at 8:45 and they weren't busy at all which surprise me, but they are much busier... More

Have never seen so much red pepper (chilli) with any dish in my life! We ordered crab and fish items and both were actually served in a bed of sliced pepper. Fortunately they were not as fiery to the tastebuds as they looked - just the right amount of spiciness mixed with great tasting Chinese sauces. The vegetarian brinjal preparation... More

Tried getting in one night, but after 40 minutes another family member on a different line across the street got in and we left. Next time we tried, we got in after a determined wait of 1:10. The food was excellent. However, the Tan Tan noodles scared us with the mouth numbing spice at the start of the meal. The... More

Went this week with some co-workers. Had heard this place was worth the stop and the reviews were right. Service was quick, efficient, food was awesome. Had the Kung Pau Chicken, spicy but not too, Orange Chicken which was sweet and sticky, rice, scallian pancakes and dumplings. All was just great.

I live in Boston, home to the 3rd largest Chinatown in the US behind San Fran and NYC. And I love Sichuan food. We ordered Braised Crispy Chicken With Jalapenos, and Szechuan Beef. Both easy on the peppers. But holy cow, this is whole other level. I had easily 1/2 a plate of peppers left over and a fiery mouth...but... More

Best Chinese home cooking in San Francisco's Chinatown. Go early, expect to wait in a long line on the street. Large menu with lots of very spicy dishes. Been there 3 times and it's always been good. Great service, reasonable prices.

We waited in line for an hour and a half. Some people showed up with reservations, but they told us on the phone that no reservations were taken. Well, it's Chinatown , Jake. But wow, spiciest Chinese food ever. Really great. Pricy for Chinese, but unique food.

My wife is from Sichuan province and she gave this restaurant a top score with home cooking flavor. Great menu, flavor, prices, service, and right in center of Chinatown. Folks there were very nice to the shoulder to shoulder packed lobby of people waiting on tables. Place is extremely popular so try to make a reservation online or you might... More

They propose a very large choice of dishes. A lot of spiciy ones. The food is very good and tasty and the staff very friendly. A bit expensive.

We were excited about getting some Sichuan food in Chinatown since we don't have places at home from that province. So wow - the chicken with explosive chilis - delicious and a beautiful presentation, the tan tan noodles, beef with flaming chili oil all with just the right amount of spice to enhance the delicious flavors. They don't take reservations... More
