This is a little hole in the wall that is really lives up to the hype. The donuts are fresh, and there's quite a selection. Staff are really friendly and helpful. I would definitely return, and while it's not the best donut I've ever had, it's definitely up there.

We enjoyed a trip to Bob's on a Sunday evening during a recent tourist trip to SF. It's only a couple of blocks from the California Ave. cable car stop. Line was out the door, but that's because it's a small place and the register is near the front entrance. It moved quickly. Really enjoyed the crumb donuts, but all... More

These donuts were amazing! We made two trips there - I can't recommend them enough. The apple fritters were especially delicious, but even the plain sugared donut was incredible. It nearly melted in my mouth. The only donuts I've ever had to rival this are from Dough in NYC, but these donuts were a fraction of the price.

Don't regret having visited Bob's Donuts shop as the donuts were the best we've ever tasted. We saw the online reviews & made a point of stopping there when we were visiting San Francisco!

I bought one donut purely for fun because it was about as big as my head. (I only ate part and gave the rest away - but it was delicious, by the way.) The apple fritters were also great - and everyone enjoyed their own selections.

My Wife loves her donuts so while we were in town we had to check out Bobs Donuts. These donuts did not disappoint! The Crumb Donuts was amazing. We also ate the Apple Fritter and the cake donut which were very good as well. The place isn't nothing special But it's an old school donut shop with great donuts and... More

Fresh donuts, well made and tasty. Don't expect the decor to astound you though. Simple donut shop with really good donuts. The lady at the counter is always friendly and nice. If you don't see a particular donut, ask. They may have it still. They do make huge ones too. You need a couple of people to eat those!

This place was recommended by our tour guide, Big Bus Blake, and we came here for a few donuts after dinner at Tony's. It was worth it. They have donuts the size of a cake in the window, but asked what was fresh, and ordered a chocolate covered plain, a bear paw, and cinnamon buns for the next morning's breakfast.... More

Simply a success. Nothing fancy just really good donuts. Service was great and the lady behind the counter was very friendly. Don't hesitate - just go get the donuts. You will be glad that you did.

This very basic bakery has simply the best donuts ever. I hate krispy cream and too sweet puddings, but I love this donuts.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
