Fresh, brewed to order coffees and teas. Luscious cakes and pastries to complement the brew. upscale casual. Stroll off the calories afterwords in bustling neighborhood.

This place has a nice atmosphere, food and coffee. Kids had the best looking waffles with fruit I have seen in a restaurant while the adults enjoyed made to order egg sandwiches that were equally good. Great coffee, friendly service, rustic but clean bathroom. What else can one wish for?

This place has excellent prosciutto panini sandwiches. The prosciutto and cheese melt in your mouth.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and were very pleased. We had 2 of their panini sandwiches. The paninis were great and not oily or greasy at all. They also had excellent cannolis.

Best almond scone I have EVER had!!! Excellent macchiato. Friendly service. Only drawback is cash-only, but ATM across the street. :0) I highly recommend if you want an authentic Italian cafe!!

I recently visited several times for breakfast and it reminded me of being in Italy. Very good coffee, friendly staff, and wonderful pastries. My favorite were the croissants with Nutella spread on them and toasted warm. OMG! I had a scone one morning and it was very good too. Atmosphere is very casual.

Had a tasty tomato and mozzarella bagel and a very average coffee. The location a fab and the street tables are great. Given the neighbourhood I'd have expected better coffee hence the 3 star rating. Order inside before seating.

Fabulous atmosphere with the vermouth posters, great service, superb coffee and delicious cannoli. Not much else needs to be said other than to bring cash as they do not accept credit. Sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by. Bliss

Serving Illy coffee, every drink is rich and smooth. When I come to SF, this is where I like to grab a cappuccino, espresso and a sweet, and sit on the street and people watch. It's a chill break from walking and hustle. Enjoy!

Stopped by and sat outside for a great coffee and cakes. Lovely coffee taste and choice of cakes etc. Authentic Italian in so much as there is no waiter service and no credit cards were accepted but having said that probably the best coffee shop in Little Italy....... Worth a stop whilst you are walking around the area

Thank Dean W

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
