I went here for some dim sum with my family on the second day of our trip to San Francisco. I chose this place primarily because of the great reviews that it received on Yelp. First impression - it's definitely a hole in the wall. The place looked promising at first because of how many locals there were. My family... More

we really enjoyed the reasonably priced dim sum here but there is little to no Engish spoken here and the other older Chinese patrons openly talk about you scrutinizing what you order, how much you order and how you use chopsticks... Variety is not great but what they have tastes best when it is hot. My favourite rice noodle rolls... More

I was in SF for 4 days and decided to have authentic Dim Sum in my last day there before I came back to LA. So, I yelped places around in Chinatown and this one popped up with one of the best rating.... That's how I ended up in this restaurant. The only good thing was the price, super cheap.... More

Hole in the wall. Went here because of the yelp rating which did not live up to the rating of why we went in the first place. Very difficult to order if you are not Chinese speaking. Service was terrible and rude, but she was rude to everyone so at least it wasn't because we weren't Chinese (and the only... More

You've see the big dim sum restaurants with the endless carts of specialties, half of which are gelatinous question marks. This is completely different. it's a small place, packed as tightly with diners as is possible, but everyone including your fellow diners are warm and inviting. The food is so wonderfully flavorful and generous portion wise that I was only... More

This is a great find in Chinatown, food is delicious (comes around on one of those carts and you just take what you want) and the price is dirt cheap. It's just maybe not the most sanitary and up to code on being clean. Personally I think it adds to the character tee of the place, but I can see... More

The Dim Sum were really yummy. It was my kids first time trying Dim Sum and they are a bit picky but were desperate to come back! Al 4 of us were stuffed for $20. Delicious and a bargain

We love coming here each time we visit SF. This is Chinese home cooking at it's finest. No frills. Just say yes! Steamed baskets of fresh dumplings just keep coming to the table, each better than the last. Shrimp, veggie, chicken, pork, they're all to die for.

This little hole in the wall dim sum cafe at Pacific and Stockton is where we eventually found ourselves for dim sum a couple of days ago. We were looking for a place that we could sit as opposed to “take out” dim sum, and this spot seemed well-reviewed on TripAdvisor and was packed with locals, which was a promising... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
