Returning customer and still as good as I remember. Combo plates are great and the beans and rice are fantastic!! Jugs of margarita are great - if you're happy with mix then there are pretty decent priced pitchers. However, we always treat ourselves and go all-out for the real deal - at about $40 a pitcher it seems a lot... More

I have been to this place twice and don't really care to go back again. I returned the 2nd time (years later) because my friend loves it here. The food is on the bland side. Needs a kick. Reminds me of a downtown cantina in Mexico. Everyone here is raving about the maguerittas. I don't like them but maybe after... More

Unfortunately stuck by the door and it was 45 degrees out & every time the waiter cleared outside tables the door was left open and we froze. Food ok; nothing out of the ordinary

Our visit to San Francisco warranted for my first time enjoying a Margarita :) The restaurant was packed and the mood jovial - we got seated at the bar, which was fun, we don't have that in our part of the world, and enjoyed some dishes, which were tasty, but the big tick were the margaritas - yum!! Seriously first... More

If you like Mexican food then you'll love this place. I have eaten at hundreds of Mexican restaurants even in Mexico but the rest Mexican food I ever put in my mouth was at Puerto Alleged. The best margaritas in the world. The owners are awesome

On a Monday evening, we took the BART to the 16th & Mission stop and walked. A little sketchy but didn't feel dangerous. No wait at 7:30 for a table, service quick but not with pressure. Had the margarita with reposada & real lime juice not a mix (at recommendation of waitress) - really good, but that second one put... More

I went there with my friend. we ate good guacamole, we drunk mezcal and tequila. the ambiance was very cozy and the staff is almost all Mexicanos which is good if you want to feel like in Mexico and which is not good if you like Donaldo Trumpito :) I suggest this place for all the Mexico lovers like me

This place has been a go to for as long as I can remember. The vibe is always festive and the staff are great hosts. The margaritas are everything! The shrimp cocktail with avocado is a great starter for the table and fajitas are perfect.

Whenever we visit SF, we go to Puerto Alegre. Quick, friendly service, tasty, reasonably priced food and drinks and a fun atmosphere make this a terrific place to spend an evening. The margaritas are some of the best we've had.

We stopped here for dinner based on the great trip advisor reviews and were not disappointed! Had a pitcher of the house margarita frozen lime - so good! Yummy quesidilla to start (we shared) and they bring your fresh tortilla chips and salsa when you sit down too. Great menu with loads of classics to chose from & a couple... More
