Believe it or not, a lot of this food would fly in the south and I mean that as a compliment. Good flava and service.

Good BBQ spare ribs. Excellent kale salad. Home cut fries were also very good. Great atmosphere. Quick and friendly service - - ate at the bar. Eclectic and rough area.

A casual dinner with friends took us here. Top-notch quality flavor, portion size and super friendly staff. The brisket was smoky with a nice smoke ring, for my sides I went with the classic macaroni and cheese and grits. The grits cakes werevakso a tabked fav. The pulled pork was spicey sweet and the ribs where finger-licken good. All the... More

Family visit looking for the best BBQ place in town. Enthusiastic local recommendations led us here. Great service, brilliant ribs, wings, pulled pork and corn and a truly superb set of cocktails. All southern style, dripping with taste (and not a small amount of spice either). I wish this place was on my backdoor.

My friend took me here for dinner, since we are both from the South, and he figured I hadn't had Southern food for a while. The food was good, although out of my normal price range, so it was nice that my friend was treating. We started with an appetizer of shrimp grits. I'm not usually a big fan of... More

We are enjoying a large, family, get together in San Francisco, but often find it difficult to choose a restaurant that we all like and can cater for a group of 10. Southpaw BBQ and Southern Cooking met all criteria. If you like BBQ, especially Southern BBQ, this is the place. The food is delicious. The pulled pork was especially... More

The food here is really good, very decent servings, I shared a plate of ribs and a few sides with my husband and we didn't get through it all. The staff are lovely too, we had a great chat at the bar with one of the girls, it has a great atmosphere

I'm always craving Southpaw ! Chef Zack Smith knows his Southern Food and loves to put a lot of food on your plate, Southern style...you won't go home hungry! Ask Melissa or any bartender about what to drink, she's a specialist. If Hermilo is hosting that night you are lucky...and always order the Deviled Eggs...
