Came here because the concierge at our hotel recommended it. The atmosphere was not bad. However, the food was nothing great. We love fresh italian food this was very average. Worse than the food and prices was the waiter. He missed different things with our...More

When I want good tasting, we’ll-crafted, Italian comfort food I head to A-16. I make it a point to visit every time I’m in San Francisco and have never been disappointed. My only disappointment is that I can’t eat more of their excellent food. The...More

This restaurant is a good pizza place. The cook and waiters are all Italian, and their thin crust pizza is quite good. All the ingredients are fresh and quite tasty. Especially the chili oil they offer. It goes super well with their crust and pizza!...More

Not crazy about this place. Noise is louder than moderate. Food was so so and pricey. They do take reservations. I gave the featured wine for the night only 3* on Vivino. The meatballs were good, but the side order of pinto beans was no...More

What compels someone who hasn’t written a review to write one after a long hiatus is either a extraordinarily great experience or the opposite. Well by the title I was compelled to write this: we probably dine out and travel more than 99% of the...More

Let's face it generally speaking Valentines out is a disappointment if not an outright disaster. What an amazing surprise A16 was last week. A knock it out of the park perfect meal. The food at A16 is inventive yet traditional southern Italian. Burrata so creamy...More

Our waiter was not super attentive. The food was just okay. It was not nearly as good as it had been on prior visits several years ago. I ordered the small portion of tonnarelli with lemon zest, almonds, and sea urchin. The sea urchin was...More

Only been here once but I would come back. Lots of great items on the menu and many choices for wine. If you are in the area make a reservation and check it out.

I went to A-16 recently and had a totally mediocre meal, several dishes were just bad. I was so very disappointed since 1) i have always enjoyed this restaurant 2) I was looking forward to sharing with friends from NYC and 3)my husband had decided...More

Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful
backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to
the Marina. Originally the location for the
Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose
remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much
of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a
world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a
jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city.

There was at least one gluten free pasta I remember on the menu. But you will probably do best by calling the restaurant directly for any special dietary concerns.

A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.
