We chose this restaurant as our first meal on our 7 day vacation in Noerthern California. Our friends had never been to SAn Francisco before and we wanted to go somewhere with history, atmosphere and great food. Scoma's has it all. The food was wonderful (Cioppino, Crab Louis Salad, and mixed seafood). Our waiter, Kevin, definitely added to the experience.... More

Service was fine, but not equipped to solve the food questions. I had the Classic Crab Louie Salad (~$40). The crab was tasteless. I ate about 1/3 and gave up. Server assured me it was not frozen, but the lack of taste suggested to me it probably canned. Server suggested they may have 'washed' the crab reducing the flavor? My... More

Our "touchstone" restaurant in S.F. They have real pros with 40 years tenure serving you the cioppino that others can only try to emulate. The lobster bisque is killer. And, don't laugh - but, the spumoni is the best ever. They'll let you in wearing super casual attire, but this place is worth dressing-up for - especially for dinner.

Visited on a recommendation from a friend who has immediately moved up several places on the know-your-food list. Fortunately we had time for a stroll along the wharf pre-dinner on a pleasant Sunday evening. Had a knowledgable and passionate waiter originally from France so we conversed in French and English agreeing on the deletavble clam chowder, wine choices and melt... More

Nice restaurant and seafood was good, but not the best I've eaten. Fairly expensive. Small glass margarita $15. Two people split a soup, appetizer and mid range entree with drinks for $120. Neat location tucked away on a pier near fishing boats away from other restaurants. Recommend getting reservations using the restaurant website to minimize wait.

50 years old and still serving the best food on Fishermans's Wharf. Crab Louie piled so high to dye for, sourdough bread dipped in clam chowder to warn your toes, cracked warm garlic buttered Dungeness crab still in in its shell A taste of an area that is going by too fast. Linen table clothes, waitstaff in white jackets busily... More

My daughter and I went for dinner on a rainy evening and it was very good. The food was outstanding. We had the clam chowder-amazing and filling. Crab cocktail-good. Linguine and clams-excellent. Cocktails were delicious. Ambiance quaint, a little touristy, but expected for fishermans warf. I'd go back for sure.

Had a lovely dinner down at Scoma. The restaurant has a nice feel hidden all the way down the end of a pier. I had the clam chowder as an entree and my partner had the lobster bisque. Delicious. We both had the Petrale Doré as recommended by the french waiter. Also really delicious :) Tentative and friendly service. Highly... More

Stopped by Scoma's and for once there was no wait, and empty tables. Service was great and almost a tad too fast, but not quite enough to feel rushed. Food was excellent as were the drinks, although I don't think I've ever seen a smaller $15 margarita anywhere (it was delicious). Cioppino was chock full of seafood and the scallop... More

We were told to visit by a local so we ordered the large appetizer, claim chowder, lobster bisque and salads. Everything was amazing!
