Okay. We had high expectations. We took a $40 uber over to get the food and the experience. The burgers were fair. Not amazing by any means. The fries are again... ok. The service. Not bad. Not good. But strange. Under the influence maybe? We...More

Made a special trip over to the Grubstake expecting a killer burger (look at the picture) and according to some reviews. Unfortunately, what we got was an average burger and average service. The place is so unique, an old cable car converted into a diner....More

the concierge in the hotel I was using suggested I go to the Grubstake to get a cheeseburger. The restaurant has a lot of ambiance and the food was okay. However, like everything in SF, it is not cheap!! The Grubstake is open until 4AM...More

The main positive about this venue is that it stays open late. The food was decent but nothing startling. Had a nice pumpkin pie for desert as the waitress claimed they were famous for it.

Grubstake is mainly awesome because it stays open until late, unlike most places in SF. Other pluses include the original style of the restaurant as a cable car replica, and the interesting people you get to see dining in the middle of the night. The...More

Went here for a couple reasons. 1- it was close to the hotel and we were exhausted from being on the road all day. 2- it was listed on the Diners, drive-ins, and dives list as a good place to eat in San Francisco. The...More

Great, friendly group of employees running the place as a team. The environment is super cool; the restaurant is made of cable cars! The food was hot and came out blazing fast. It is a late night place so it can be noisy but it...More

The inside of this place is set inside an old train car and serves really good food. There are some Portuguese dishes available, but I had a hankering for Chicken Wings (which were amazing) and a medium steak (which was also amazing). We ended up...More

We want to Grubstake for the first time in 30 years and it was excellent. The burgers were very good and the service was excellent. The milk shake was delicious but a little pricey. The sweet potato fries were very good.

Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that
