Food was delicious, super authentic and tasty. The service was amazing, all the staff makes you feel very welcome. They have a great variety of tequila and mezcal. Margaritas are fantastic, the salsas great, tortillas home made, delicious panuchos, super tasty guacamole and the place is cosy and nice. Margaritas from 11, bottle of beer from 6, main dish around... More

Traveling alone for business-sat at the bar to eat. The tortilla soup with estofado for a side was so delicious I came back the second night and had the ceviche (the ceviche on its own is enough for dinner for one if you're a light eater). Service was lightning fast and extremely friendly. Atmosphere vibrant and fun yet sophisticated. Very... More

Lunch at Colibri was excellent. The service was prompt and helpful even though the restaurant was packed. My Asada was spicy and perfectly cooked. The Carnitas Michoacán style was flavorful and tender. Colibri continues to be consistently outstanding.

Very good restaurant with a great tequila selection. Really enjoyed the food. If your looking for burritos and tacos, this is not the place. It is a small restaurant, very close seating. Very busy. We did not have a reservation on a Friday night but was still seated quickly.

I first ate here several years ago, and while Colibri probably isn't cutting edge cool any more with with new restaurants opening all the time, it's still great fun with tasty food, buzzy ambience and an awesome drinks list. The guacamole was as good as I remember, the service attentive and the cocktail very good. See you next time.

We were looking for a mexican restaurant and a good burrito to be honest. Do not come here if that is what you are looking for. This is a class mexican fine dining restaurant and you can expect the prices to be as appropriate. It's very busy in the evenings. Most diners have reservations and we were lucky to grab... More

Chosen on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews, but a disappointment. The food was sort of OK, but very expensive for what it was. Fancy presentation is a means of justifying the exorbitant price, but doesn't quite make up for it in the taste. Also a bit bad if the waitress tries to charge us for the food from the adjacent... This restaurant has a wonderful Mexican Bistro atmosphere and the margaritas are excellent. The food is not the Tex Mex sort that we are used to and my Chicken Mole was on the dry side. My husband had carnitas and was happy with his meal but didn't think that it surpassed carnitas at other restaurants. We might go back when... More

Forget the cheesecake place, this is awesome. Delicious food and great selection of tequilas and cocktails. No fuss just quality. We had mains, sides and desserts. Simply great. Everyone in our party of 5 enjoyed and we like no frills.

Description
Colibri Mexican Bistro lies in the heart of San Francisco's bustling Theatre District, just a block west of Union Square. Spanish for "hummingbird," Colibri combines the simplicity of authentic family recipes with fresh, high-quality ingredients to bring diners unparalleled, delectable Mexican cuisine in a charming, turn of the century cantina setting. This warm and inviting eatery is reminiscent of Mexico City restaurants of the 1900's, decorated with classic Spanish paintings and accentuated by a vast collection of uniquely shaped and rare tequila bottles. Filled with energy, Colibri projects black and white 1940's Latino-film clips at the front of the house, while the open kitchen in back provides glimpses of its colorful cuisine in different stages of completions. Boosting a knowledgeable staff and attentive, sociable management, Colibri is dedicated to providing a memorable dining experience for both tourist and locals alike.
