Just had to visit the Top of the Mark on a beautiful, clear evening in early February. Yes, I know it's a tourist place, but the staff treated us like, well, like Nob Hill one-percenters. Our martinis were excellent, and so were the snacks we...More

Currently not a full restaurant, but a very good bar, with nice appetizers/bar food. A wonderful view, day or night, of San Francisco. Quite romantic. Especially nice if you are staying at the hotel and simply have to board the elevator to get there.

The service was great. The food is very good. This restaurant has a very nice views of the city. While visiting they had a band playing live music. Well worth a visit.

After looking for a place for our closing dinner we ended up at the Top of the Mark restaurant, at the top floor of the InterCon Mark Hopkins hotel. We were told upfront that there is a music band today and a $10 per head...More

Went with my wife and one of her business associates for drink and an appetizer. Last time I was there was literally like 25 years ago. The view was everything I remembered - maybe better due to SF's explosive building rampage. Just about my favorite...More

I took my four granddaughters to SanFrancisco to shop and enjoy the city at Christmastime. Because it was too crowded at cocktail hour, we decided to do dessert instead. We had all of the desserts, and they were all fabulous. I even had a bite...More

My wife and I were wandering around the city enjoying holiday decor 2 weeks before Christmas. After taking a cable car to the top of the hill, we wandered into the Mark Hopkins just before sunset hoping to snag a window table at the Top...More

We came here for a drink in the early evening a couple of days after Christmas. There was a 5-10 min. wait to get in and a $5 cover charge for the pianist. We weren't seated right next to a window, so we couldn't see...More

The view here is outstanding and hard to beat. We tried to get in around sunset, and the place was quite busy on a weekend evening---thus, we came back after dinner and took in the city lights. I was here many years ago, and the...More

Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the
city and is home to amazing architecture and views.
The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for
those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be
rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful
architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated
with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all
were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that

We got there around 5 PM to make sure we had a window seat for the sunset. There is no charge to visit the Top of the Mark. Drinks and appetizers are pricey.

I think we arrived for happy hour around 5:00. If you find they are open earlier definitely go as early as possible. A window seat is really the reason to go, but even at 5:00 we were too late. I don't think there is a... More
