We really loved this spot to stop and enjoyed some amazing flavors of gelato. My mother doesn't like to try anything new, but she enjoyed this tasty stop too. They have many flavors and combinations. The staff were friendly and let you try samples before buying. We would highly recommend a stop here.

Stopped in at Gelateria Naia for an afternoon treat. Friendly staff, delicious gelato and locally made just across the bay. Highly recommend a visit here if you like your gelato! Yum.

My family loves gelato, we look for it just about everywhere we go. This one has a convenient location and indoor seating to stay warm. The gelato tastes good, but not very creamy. It was nice to try, and we'll explore other gelato stores in the city.

Not quite Italy, but the quality and selection are very good. The fruit sorbets were especially intense in flavor and delicious.

My family had gelato at Naia on 2 consecutive nights. Yes, it's that good! They give you as many samples as you like to make sure you get the right flavor/combination. The pistachio and hazelnut flavor were stand outs for me!

This is the best gelato I've had since visiting Italy years ago. They make all their gelato in-house (only place in the city that does) and its spectacular. They also have gluten free cones for anyone that needs them like me! This is your place for a sweet treat after all the walking and hills you'll tackle.

I search Yelp for a place that made gelato and nothing else. What a terrific find! They make their gelato's from scratch and will serve you as many sample tastes as you wish. The lady working behind the counter was happy to help us.

Look no further in my opinion. The young man working there was awesome and had great knowledge of the Gelato. I had pink grapefruit and strawberry banana. Both were fantastic. Tasted others, all superb. Bar none, the best was the environment and the young man working there! Good luck in school....

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
