Unfortunately, this restaurant no longer exists. It is out of business, completely shut down. A different restaurant has taken over the location (not a pizza restaurant).

The pizza here is great but I would like it to be a little less cooked. My pizza was just a bit to cooked and right on the verge of burnt. Next time I will just ask for a less cooked site.

A MUST EAT! SF has so many options that it's oftentimes very hard to choose. We picked this spot merely based on the Groupon that we found (and the fact that my beau loves Italian). This was by far one of our top 5 favorite restaurants we ate in all vacation-long. Be sure to order their bruschetta!

During our SF summer trip we stumbled upon Cinecitta based on a tripadvisor review. This little place surprised with super thin roman style pizzas in real gourmet combinations of toppings. It was so good that it was unanimously picked as the place for lunch our last day when we usually visit the place we liked the most for the trip.... More

Excellent pizza. Like really excellent. I had the Genovese. Great crust, great toppings, great sauce. Barragita llena, corazon contento. En serio. Good beer and good wine too. The outside isn't a whole lot to look at. The inside is quaint and the other tables had animated conversations. Really festive atmosphere. Not a dress-up nice place. Go wearing jeans and maybe... The place is a living proof that good cooking is not genetic. You can be Italian and yes, be a terrible cook. Generally speaking this is not a problem, unless you open a restaurant, and that''s the Cinecittà case. A few pictures of old Italian movies add some flavor, but not to the food, and don't save the worn out... More

Went in for a lunch and ordered two pizza's, a salad, two glasses of house wine, one lemonade one coffee and one vanilla ice-cream. The food was fine, nothing outstanding but it came to over $96 which we thought was pricey for what it was. We were charged $8 for two small scoops of vanilla - Ben and Jerry's at... More

My wife, 12yr old and I had dinner here last night. It's a tiny spot looking onto Washington Square Park and doesn't look like anything special from outside, but my what fantastic pizzas - beautiful, delicate thin crust affairs so unlike their hulking US cousins. Our only disappointment was that their celebrated tiramisu had sold out and we had to... More

Very good pizza in a cozy atmosphere. We ate here as part of a food tour, and it was great. Very friendly.

I had read about this place and had wanted to try it because when in Italy I so enjoyed the pizza, very different than anything you get in the states. It was just like I had in Rome, I was so pleased. It is probably more than most want to spend on a pizza though, but if you don't mind... More

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
