Wait staff here was awesome, if a bit overworked. But the food was terribly one noted and bland. I had the Drunken Chicken, hubby had pork chops. Everything lacked seasoning, even the appetizers...we elected to skip desert.

Nice restaurant and excellent service. They were out of pretzel rolls so we were given unimpressive dinner rolls. They wee also out of sauerbraten. Good food overall but have had better.

Quaint cozy log cabin in the mountains -- I was so hoping the food would be as good as the atmosphere of the restaurant. The Jaegerschnitzel came with a "sherried demi glaze" --- the alcohol was so strong, the gravy tasted like a "shot" of whatever alcohol they used (tasted stronger than sherry). The goulash soup reminded me of beef... More

Delicious hearty fare. Brat sampler with schnitzel was great. Wine samples before deciding on a glass.

The service was good, our waitress was knowledgeable. I was not very familiar with German food, which is really wrong in every way since I'm German descent lol! I had potato pancakes which were good and the pretzel bread was delicious. I had the traditional sausage which came with a side of potatoes, the sausage was delicious, the potatoes were... More

Fifteen years ago, my wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in Europe. Growing up I had learned that one of my distant ancestors was the famed Bavarian "Mad" King Ludwig II who commissioned the building of the fairy tale Neuschwanstein Castle. So my new bride and I enjoyed a special visit to the castle during our stay in Europe. Fast... More

Imagine taking a red-eye flight to Germany, having a few too many beers, and waking up in a dumpster... Ok, honest review coming your way. I pulled up into the parking lot of Bavarian Restaurant & Biergarten and the surroundings were questionable. Fine, real estate in Asheville is a hot commodity, I'll put that out of my mindset (I did... More

This place is really great. Every thing about it was ten stars! Of special note was a fabulous pork shank, equal or better than Mader's in Milwaukee. Just super and we can't wait to go back!!

Decorated on a very Bavarian style that is so much fun, lots to look at. Food is wonderful. They have a rotating selection of wild meats, the rabbit and wild boar are particularly delicious. Also love the German potato salad, and the Vienna salad. We go every time we stay in Asheville!
