Good food, good service, and the atmosphere- good grief! The Scarlet Bee has a good selection of vegetarian dishes. We had Vega Sindoa, Fattoush, and Cauliflower Shawarma - which was very good. The Mediterranean Fries were just so so. If can believe it, the restaurant...is located on the first floor. Above it is a studio that periodically has dance classes. We were fortunate (?) to be dining during one one the classes. However, we have since learned that the studio is moving so quiet will reign.More

Outstanding! The comfortable and friendly atmosphere, the drinks, the music, the service and the many Lebanese treats made this an extremely special night. The band, 42nd Street, played a great set, full of classic broadway / classical jazz hits from the 30’s and 40’s which...was a great surprise to us, but not to the apparent regulars that were swaying and dancing to the beat. As a former resident of the Middle East, to be able to have such an authentic meal with amazing fresh ingredients so close to home, is an absolute delight. Thank you. We shall be back with friends and family!More

Fabulous, flavorful offerings. We ordered fries, fatoush salad, cauliflower shwarma, grape leaves and chickpea sliders for 2. The small plates make sharing plates perfect. I was disappointed upon entering the restaurant. The management could stand to focus some attention to the cloudy, dirty doors and...windows and neaten up the initial impression with a big of focus on the welcome.More

A fantastic destination! I ate there tonight and it was incredible. And it was over the top. Great humus, grape leaves, and chicken Schwarma! We sat at the bar and had a signature drink, The Busy Bee. Delicious. The place has ample parking. Reservations suggested,...but not required. My only regret is not finding this place sooner. A true gem and well worth eating here.More

The Scarlett Bee is in a prime location—complete with parking—on Merrimon in North Asheville. Having been there once and having been disappointed with most of what we were served, we decided to give it another try, this time when they were serving a pop-up menu...from Bun Intended. Due to some great publicity, too many people wanted to try the new menu offerings. To avoid all the patrons descending on the Scarlet Bee simultaneously, they made sure people were assigned a time to show up. Nonetheless, the place was packed—perhaps a testament to people wanting to try something new. The poor staff was literally running to keep up with taking orders and serving people; however, they were admirable. The food, likewise, was very good. Of note, the steamed buns (both types) were quite good; the fried rice—complete with an egg on top was delicious; best of all was the shrimp shu mai. Luckily, all the sauces that were described as “spicy” were in separate containers, because their version of “spicy” translated to my mouth as “on fire.”More

The service is super! The mixed drinks /cocktails are unusual but very good and well poured . Appetizers were super and the main courses terrific! Every thing came out in a timely manner and spaced just right so courses were not on top of one...another. We'll be back!More

I can’t recommend the Scarlet Bee on Merrimon in North Asheville unless you enjoy small portions of Mediterranean foods. The menu is very limited and the portions are amazingly small. I had chicken shawarma which was mostly pita bread, something like minced kale and an...oily dressing. The chicken was diced in the smallest pieces I have ever seen served in a restaurant. They were small cubes less than the size of a dime; what’s worse, there were only about 5-6 little chunks of chicken. I got 2 of those for $12. I ate one left the other. I got French fries, a very modest serving for $6. I was there after Labor Day weekend, and they were under stocked. Out of some beers, had NO desserts, and were sold out of at least 2 of their entrees...and when the menu only has a few options anyway, you can’t really afford to not have a couple. Then there is the ambiance - - or, really, the lack thereof... the decor is lacking and apparently there is an exercise studio above them. When they all started jumping up there in unison - the ceiling literally moved and squeaked up and down, lamps a swaying.... So from my experience, I can’t recommend The Scarlet Bee. The menu is limited, the flavors are very culturally specific, the portions are small for the price which is edgily high. I guess they are cashing in on the reputation of being in Asheville. Poor value for the money. Won’t return. Don’t recommend.More

We went to Scarlett Bee last night with 2 other couples. We shared Mediterranean fries and the cold dip platter as appetizers and shared 6 different small plates. Everything we had was extraordinary from the grape leaves stuffed with lamb and beef to the chicken...shawarma to the chocolate tart. The waitress (Cassidy) was very friendly and helpful and the chef even came out to each table to see how everyone was enjoying their meal! We will definitely be going back soon!More

Really good Mediterranean food and drinks. Good beer. Best hummus in AVL by far. Kebabs are awesome.

A local friend suggested we meet for dinner here. What a treat! I made a reservation through Open Table and a lovely table was waiting for us when we arrived. Reservations are not required. The menu is varied enough to suit all palates but not...so extensive that quality is affected. The flavors were fresh and bold. Portion sizes were appropriate. The price was more than fair. Loved the ambiance. Can't wait to return!More
